You know, I talked a big game, and a lot of smack. I never, ever expressed any doubt about his victoy.

But Im in shock that he won. I expected it to be closer, and perhaps even for him to lose, on a deep, subconscience level. It just seemed to good to be true.

I invested so much time and emotional energy (and some money too!) into this campaign. Now that its over...my eyes are tearig up.

This is probably the saddest thing I have ever read.

I mean, good grief, he's the President, not the Messiah (of course, most Obama supporters can't seem to tell the difference).

Since when has the President ever been more than a glorified figurehead? I mean, seriously?

Sour grapes. I will relish your bitterness for the next four years.

Im sorry you dont understand what it feels like to have been following someones career since their first term in your states senate, working for someone's campaign really hard, donating money to it, and then seeing all your hard work realized.

Do you not understand how our government works? The president is much, much more than a glorified figurehead. Are you Rusty's puppet?

I feel the same about you, sir.;)

I mean, good grief, he's the President, not the Messiah (of course, most Obama supporters can't seem to tell the difference).

I could say the same about the GOP and Regan. And what do you know of the beliefs and emotions of "most Obama supporters"

Since when has the President ever been more than a glorified figurehead? I mean, seriously?

Let's see, pardoning and commuting sentences, ordering military action, appointing Secretaries and Supreme Court Justices (who decide how all our laws are interperated). That's a fair bit of power. Of course, Congress has its share of powers, as do the courts. Its this thing called checks and balances. Sadly Bush never got the memo.

Stop being a sore loser. Obama might be good, or he might screw up. But he genuinely cares for his country and this world, he is very intelligent and educated, and he is surrounded by smart advisors. He's not a socialist, terrorist, or anything that would be out of the main stream of politics. He'll be fine.

Sounded like he said alot but did not say anything. The worst speech he has ever given. His inaguration speech will probably say what he did not say tonight. But will I believe him? That is a problem, then again I might believe him and that is a problem. That is not an actual question but a statement.

At least he won democratically.

Popular vote is at 52/47 in his favor last time I checked. And the electoral math is even more in his favor. So indeed, fairly won, and the people have spoken.

Now let's hope he's up to the job. No President can have faced such a challenge since FDR. Best of luck, Obama.

It's not a position speech or a policy speech. It's a victory speech. I can't believe even you were expecting some kind of nuts-and-bolts exposition on election night. What is wrong with you? Are you so blindly partisan that you don't understand what kind of a speech the man was giving? Give it rest for once in your posting career.
