Obama won. Clearly he was the best candidate in the field and the American people realized that. Why am I disappointed? I'm disappointed because women are still running behind. I'm disappointed because the parties persist in putting forward women who have no quality. I'm disappointed because I will very likely die before a woman is elected President.
If the parties continue to put forward the likes of Hilary and Sarah, a woman may never be elected President.
I'm disappointed because the parties think mediocre men are better than stellar women and they refuse to even recognize the best women.
Obama is not mediocre. The Democrats recognized and nominated an outstanding candidate who happened to be African-American. You'd think one of the parties could find an outstanding candidate who happened to be a woman.

I dont think most Christians have read their own book.
I'm a Messianic Jew, but I believe there is no one anti-Christ... A quick study of history shows that anti-Christs have risen and fallen since the death of Christ (namely, Caligula, Nero, etc.) The book of Revelation isn't all just going to happen, the stuff in there has already happened, the only thing yet to happen is the actual return of Christ.
You're also right, I find too many Christians don't read the Bible... If Senior Class (I think that's his name) did, he would know that leaders rise and fall by the will of God... Even if we don't like who he puts in charge.
For once we have a little bit of common ground, KoL, this is surely a sign of the end times.

As for rebelling, didn't really need to rebel against my parents: ok teens listen up, here's what you do: you learn the basics of Portfolio management from library books (not as hard as people make it, but they don't want you to not pay for an MBA - so they b/s) and manage your parents' portfolios. Let's just say I had a very nice bargaining cheap as to how late I could stay out during party nights. And Prom Nights - I didn't really need to come home. And if I was drunk (rarely happened - high alcohol tolerance) I could just call my dad to pick me up.

I have not cried since loosing Lobo the II. Lobo-Wolf, the name sounds more natural in spanish for a dog than in english. Lobo the German Sheppard Dog, rest in peace my loyal friends, I & II.

An interesting fact: A Harvard law professor who knew both Barack Obama and his wife said that he actually thought Michelle was the one who would run for a major office.
In response to the OP, I agree with some of of what you said--Palin was a horrible choice and putting out women such as she does no good--but there's no sense in feeling disappointed right now; be happy for the progress that the U.S. has just made. We cannot expect everything that should happen to happen all at once. Change is progressive, not instantaneous. If anything, the election of an African American President foreshadows future social advancement in America.
Clinton was not even remotely comparable to Palin. Her problem was that she came at the wrong time: the same year Barack Obama decided to make his run.
