James Bond on November...14?!?!?

Okay, I have decided that I am pissed off enough about this to do the thread on it.
Why the F*%# did the producers at EON decide to bump Bond back a week. I mean, they pretty much had it thrown in their lap, a Bond release on an 07/xx/yyyy. But then they bumped it, for what? A better run come Thanksgiving? Won't the film do just fine with the extra week?
Sorry, I just wanted to put it out there, seeing as how I can't fly to Britain to see it any sooner. I want my dose of Bond.

Not all of them. The last two Brosnan movies were pretty crap, though.

Well obviously you are an abomination toward all mankind that must cast out by society. :p

All the Brosnan movies sucked, except for Mars Attacks. But that wasn't James Bond.
The new dude, with the re-invented bad ass Bond image coupled with at least a semi-plausible storyline is pretty damn good. Brosnan's Bond was just some douchebag who came up with some cute (weak) one-liners.

I'm afraid you are wrong on this count. Casino Royale was an excellent movie.

Sometimes it's debate-able, as a matter of personal taste.
But there are some movies, that if you say it was bad... you're just plain wrong, and that's all there is to it.
Casino Royale was like that.

Don't worry, he's obviously referring to that other Casino Royale.

An extended holiday weekend for an opening is like gold for movies. Opening weekend is the best time for the studio, it's the weekend that they get 90% of the ticket sales on average, and strong opening weekends (bolstered by a few extra days and some people with time off and a family hanging around that their remembering why they moved away from in the first place) are what can make or break a movie-not that Bond is likely to 'break,' but it does things like retain screens, drive 'word of mouth,' increase interest for sustained theater stays, etc. If you have a choice between Thanksgiving weekend and the weekend before, the only reason you take the weekend before is if you think you can't compete with something opening on Thanksgiving weekend.

Not even Sean Connery? You, sir, have no soul.
Yes most Bond movies sucked and were hackneyed, and with all the Brosnan hate, those weren't even the worst. This new Bond blows golf balls through a garden hose though. They were like "away with the "good looking" type of Bond, in with the goonish type to appease the drooling GTA, anti-hero crowd". *sleep*

I guess they were worried about Transporter 3.
I'm afraid you are wrong on this count. Casino Royale was an excellent movie. So was Goldfinger and a couple others.
Anyway, I laugh at your misfortune and will go watch it on the 6th of November.

The Brosnan movies were the best. They totally ridiculed the franchise, which is exactly what should be done to it.

No, that was awesome too, though for widely different reasons, not the least of which being Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass.

the above statement is factually inaccurate. Bond movies are bloody fantastic I intend to see the new one the day of its opening.

I haven't watched a Bond movie since Roger Moore was 007. I've seen bits and pieces of the Brosnan movies and was underwhelmed.
We sometimes have to wait months after a movie is released in the US before we can see it in a cinema.
Seeing it two weeks after we did isn't going to kill you.
