The best example I ever saw was contained in a CSR proposal for a company in China. Back in the day, a popular program was to plant trees around Beijing to help slow soil erosion and combat the enormous sandstorms that roll over the city in the Spring.

So the idea was to gather local villagers and work with them to teach the benefits of planting trees and then 'shoot' photos for publicity brochures and such.

'Nongmin' in Chinese means 'farmer' and/or 'peasant', where peasant has positive connotations given communism.

So the sentence was...

'We shall round up some local peasants, take them to the fields and make them plant trees, then we will shoot them'

There's always the McDonald's "I'd hit that" ad campaign a while back.

I was told when I was in China that the Chinese character for 'dry' has several meanings, one of which is 'to do', as in 'to do someone' (ie to fuck them).
The problem arose from one of the orginal translator programmes popular in China translated the 'dried' character (there are no tenses in Chinese) into 'fuck'.
Hence so many signs in restaurants and supermarkets proclaiming, "fuck the fish", "fuck the fruit", "fuck the cow" etc etc. Made shopping a fun-filled experience.
