Worked as a paperboy then in a small shop, then a supermarket. Now unemployed student but starting on my own ventures.
Currently in my free time I review small bands hoping to get exposure for both of us. Just reviewing a couple of bands a day can take anything upto 4 hours to do as you listen to their songs, make contact and discuss anything with them. Also today I got my first call to help a band get a gig at my university. Considering I've only been doing this since May, I am quite excited by how fast this is moving.

Just for fun. So I suppose it doesn't count.
I have also worked as a Technologist during my first stint as a vacation student which was funny because I am studying economics and this job is normally taken by engineers. The reason I was asked to work with them was because I used to work in that department, the head of the technologist department knew that I am a hard worker with a good head on my shoulders so when I spoke to him he offered me the job. While I may not have had the uni teaching I knew what they were talking about and was able to do my work with ease as I had a lot of practical experience on the projects I was given.
My second lot of vacation work was with a sales and marketing team. So, yeah ad them to the list.

Around here the stereotypical engineers are more drunkards or party animals than anything else, the engineering society has loud and rambunctious barbecues/parties all the time. Although a lot of other societies do too, the engineering society has the loudest and drunkest of all!!

lol, I would say a few other student societies would challenge that. And I do unlike your claim that your BBQs are the only ones that gives you free food beer, and alcoholic punch we held one earlier this year doing exactly that
But trust me I know what you guys are like, I enjoyed the Prosh night (and I hope I am remembering the right uni I do to) that you guys held earlier this year not to mention a few other parties they have held. True, just differentiating because the National Guard is part-time, As far as training, equipment and dedication...
Training: same type of training, Army gets more of it though (maybe not quite so true now, but outside of when the NG is mobilized)
Equipment: Depends upon the MOS, but the Army gets the newer equipment, same addendum as training
Dedication: My experience says otherwise, but I'm willing to admit that there is a very good chance that I just ended up with a bad unit.

Cold Storage Warehouse janitor/pricer. This involved both cleaning toilets, sweeping, taking out trash AND opening packages of meat and fish, weighing each individual unit of the product, slapping a price tag on them and putting them back in the box, strapping it shut after. I especially hated fish, because their bags were not sealed and so I had to seal them. And yes, that little "hey, wait a minute, that's kinda weird" thought you're getting is true. The person taking out the trash each day was the same person who most directly handled the food. Just be glad I was more ethical than the guy who had my job previously and actually used a different set of gloves for janitoring and pricing. And no, I didn't prefer to be called a "custodian," I did not have legal custody of the building or any some such. I just cleaned the place.
Fortunately, my next job was much more fun. I did set construction and stage crew for a local theater company. The most fun was being on spotlight. That was always great. Unfortunately, this job didn't pay well at all.
The last two summers I've been unable to find a job.

My brother is in the 125th Stryker (I think thats the number). He's infantry and has been cross trained as a combat life saver, machine gunner, grenadier, and point man; he went to AIT in Ft. Benning with a whole platoon of regular army guys. Perhaps its different from state to state?
Oh, and I know its a minor technicality... but the word you want is Warrior, a warrior is a citizen soldier whose actual proffession is not combat. A Soldier is a proffesional combatant.

Possibly, you also have to consider the fact that I was in 20+ years ago...
I was a tanker in the National Guard and our tanks were M48A5's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M48_Patton) (as was the case with a majority of NG tanker units regardless of state) this was when the Army's MBT was the M60A3 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M60_Patton), although the M1 Abrams (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M1_Abrams) was entering service. The plan of action was that once the M1 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M1_Abrams) was fully deployed the Army's M60's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M60_Patton) would go to the National Guard units and the M48's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M48_Patton) would leave service entirely.

None taken, and as I stated my unit could have just been one of the really bad ones...
One thing that I do know hasn't changed though is that the National Guard gets the older equipment (the Army gets first dibs) there are exceptions of course, such as if your MOS calls for equipment that doesn't have an older version (such as for stryker temas)

The Guard is a very different beast than the Army. I spent 4 years in the Army (2000-2004) and I've been in the Guard since June 07. The Guard has a rather different philosophy towards things than the Army.

Training: We get the same training the Active component gets in the time that we get it. Of course, the Regular Army is around all year so while they will have more training we do get the same training, just less of it.
Equipment: I've got most of the same toys the Regular Army guys do. In fact, I've seen RA units with worse equipment than us. We're a cavalry unit and the RA cav unit whose area we work in has worse equipment.
Dedication: My Guardsmen are just as dedicated and motivated as my Regular Army troops were. They may not have as much experience but they picked it up quickly when we deployed.
Of course, Guard units are very much hit or miss. My unit is a rather good one and hasn't really fucked up on this deployment. One of our sister units from Ohio has managed to fire wildly into a town (luckily they didn't hit anyone but they did cause property damage) and shoot at a helicopter.

Ahh, so that's were that one comes from. The guys from the 237th BSB out of our Armory in Bay City wear that one.
Yeah, we own their D company. In fact, my gunner was a fueller in D 237th until we snagged him up.

That's changed the last few years. The Regular Army still gets the equipment before us but the Guard does generally get the same equipment.

As they should now, since they are seeing as much actual action.

Too many people with too many interesting jobs for me to comment on...
I'm up to the challenge to see if I can make a complete list...

Dishwasher
Movie theater usher
Weekly paper distributor.
Assistant Stage Manager at a recital hall
Children's performer (dressed up as popular kids characters and went to their birthday parties-mostly Ninja Turtles)
Racing Kart parts laborer

Let's see...
Professional website critic - my dad payed 5 bucks for every website I'd review for a science based news letter of his.
Camp Counselor - Air Cadets, worked 4 days a week and got payed for 7. Spent most of my money earned eating Tony Romas instead of the crappy camp food.
Hotel Maintenance - Yea I was the asshole you put to much chlorine in the pool just so your hair would turn green.
Vac/Steam Truck Swamper - got shafted and did a job dirtier than anything Mike Rowe on the Discovery Channel has ever done.
Vac/Steam Truck Driver - slept while the swampers did all the hard work. EDIT: that should read, slept "off hangover" while the swampers did all the hard work.
Professional Euro Bum - Bummed around Europe for a few months.

It's just one long mass of continuous text until I go back with the mouse and add the spaces. It's really only a minor inconvenience. :)

"RIM", eh? i'm hoping to potentially move into retail consultancy as i've been shadowing a retail consultant for some time now and know a ton of contacts... i figure it'd be quite a cool job. i'll either try and do that, or do something completely different after my current job ends in a few years... like try to get into food photography, or work in film somehow like CtoaN. frankly, i have no fucking clue what to do when this job comes to an end (the company is planning to sell itself in 5-6 years), but i want to at least try to get into something i might actually like to do
my jobs list is pretty short
1. burger flipper
2. student (doesn't count but meh)
3. tech-guy at small business (technically Creative IT Manager but that's BS) doing all sorts of tech/creative jobs
