US Absentee Ballot Question

Ok, so this is my first time voting and it says if it is my first time voting I need to attach a photocopy of an ID to verify I am who I say I am. But here is the catch, it says that if I need to attach an ID I will have a purple envelope to send the ballot to them in, however, I have a yellow one, which according to the rules means that I am supposed to send just the ballot.

I really don't want to be a provisional ballot on my first go around, so what do I do?

It sounds like you should just follow the instructions they gave you. If in doubt, Google should be able to find you some state-specific resources to make sure you're doing everything right.

The instructions are misleading, I should have a purple envelope! GAAAHH!

Call your registrar. They do make mistakes, but should be able to clear up any problems pretty quickly and easily.

Call the place that send you the papers and ask.

Hey now I have paid my pound of flesh to the government through F(u)C a(p), enough to be worth of an opinion.
