Obama supporter at a Las Vegas, Nevada Gun Show

So, I was at the gun show today, getting my carry piece (decided on a nice Jew gun, pick it up Tuesday after the 3 day "cool off" period), and I saw a LOT of republican (as well as liberatarian and various independent) politcal presence, candidates with tables set up, signs, t-shirts, etc....
Only one guy was wearing anything pro-Bama.
A black shirt, with Obama 08 in big glittering letters.
He got a lot of stink eye. And he didn't buy any of the Nazi GI Joes for sale. And it occurred to me, I'm voting for Obama this year. Why didn't I do the same? I don't currently own an Obama T-shirt, but he is my candidate for this presidential cycle. I should've gotten one and worn it.
Was I afraid I wouldn't get as good a trade-in value on my rifle? Was I afraid of any resulting debate? I ask myself, in my heart, and I don't know.
I'm afraid that I was afraid.
Okay, fuck you people, I'm not being serious anymore.

Given the massive amount of fireweapons owned by civilians in the United States, logic dictates that a significant amount of those guns are in the hands of Democrats. I don't see anything wrong with that picture.

You know, in all seriousness, you're right. I'm going to get a pro-Bama t-shirt or cap and wear it when I go the range.

Jew gun?
Probably a Desert Eagle or one of its family.

Jew gun?
Baby Desert Eagle, made by Magnum Research by way of Israeli Military Industries.
Based on the Czech CZ75, made with Italian parts from Tangfolio, assembled in Biblevania (Israel).
I got the steel framed version, chambered in .40.
In Israel, its marketed as the Jericho 941, and sometimes called the Uzi Pistol. It has been used in the past by various Israeli Security Forces, including the Special Forces and counter-terrorist units.
S'freakin' sweet, dude.

When in doubt, just get an Uzi. Aiming is pretty much impossible as far as I know, but chances are you'll hit something allright.

Yeah, the Baby Eagle gets name from the big boy, but they aren't really mechanically related.
If I don't lay off the frozen custard, though, I'll be able to carry a full sized Desert Eagle concealed...

They had a number of semi-auto version Uzi's, but they were terribly pricey. Also, I think only the Micro-uzi would be feasible as a CCW pistol.
People often claim the 9mm is an underpowered round, even for a carry piece, but I think with the right ammo, Spear Gold Dots or some other high end semi-jacketed hollow point, I think its more than adequate.
Heh, I wonder who the hell makes carry leather for a micro Uzi...probably somebody.

Baby Eagles are actually pretty sweet guns. I knew that they were aiming for quality, considering their other products, but it still managed to surprise me. For me, it's a toss-up between the Baby Eagle, USP, and a good revolver.

Yeah, the HK USP is definitely nice. For some reason, its grip doesn't fit my hand as much as I'd prefer, and they're fairly pricey, so I didn't get one, but as for quality and reliability, they are superlative.
I also considered a revolver, the Taurus Judge...but in the end, the novelty of being able to chamber either .45LC or .410 shotgun shells wasn't enough. Low capacity (compared to a semi-auto), too thick (cylinder is rather bulky), and I don't like Taurus grips.

Yeah. And if they ever complete the XM8 and come out with a civilian version, I may grab one just for hunting.

The revolver is purely for Dirty Harry-style interactions. If I could, I'd get one that's basically a tank cannon with a pistol grip just to see someone sweat as they look down the barrel :D

The company that makes my baby eagle also make the BFR, Biggest Finest Revolver...thing looks like they nickel plated John Holmes and added a grip.
Saw one yesterday in .45-70...
Smith & Wesson put out some cartoonish looking motherfucker chambered in what they're calling .500 caliber. That might suffice.
Will you get the Star of David engraved on your "Jew gun"?

Well, I could have the barrel crowned, to seal my gun's covenant with God.
Actually, I had a few Raelians over for pool last night, and one of them was wearing a very large Raelian emblem (a Star of David with a swastika in the middle). It still looks odd to me, even though its been explained to me that the swastika predates its usage by the Nayzees.

I'll have to check the BFR out.
Oh, and I've seen the S&W revolver. I have questions about whether or not it's not literally a wristbreaker. Larger caliber than the max a Desert Eagle can carry, and that one could hurt the user.

I have to concur.
I'm not saying there aren't some users out there who conceivably could make use of some of those weapons, but they are impractical for most shooters.
I would also think the uber-potent rounds are expensive and fatiguing to practice with. There stopping power is surely formidable, but I imagine your run into diminishing returns much past the .44 magnum.
I'd fear a confident, competent, well-trained, often-practiced pistolier with polished, carefully chosen technique and a medium caliber weapon more than I'd fear a fellow with a .454 Casull who's fired it less than 100 times.
I think you should have worn your pro-Bama shirt. If nothing else, you'd have made a statement.

I think you're right. Maybe nobody would've cared, since the political booths didn't have the longest lines (the beef jerky table and the seasoned nuts table were more popular...calm down, LG, easy, man, easy...)
But I want to see Obama elected. I may not agree with his gun platforms, but on most issues, he's a far better candidate.

There are those who are very deadly with them. However, in a pure firefight, they'll get beat by the person with the Glock who is of equal skill every time. Why? The Glock can hold far more bullets and shoot them faster.
Honestly, though? I agree on that. Those heavy bullets may have more mass, but they also tend to travel slower. Probably doesn't make much of a distinction if you're shot by them, but it does tend to cut down on their advantages.
Well, I could have the barrel crowned, to seal my gun's covenant with G-d.

Actually, kidding aside, we did see a $30k USD engraved pair of matched colt revolvers...they were beautiful, detailed gold, pearl handles.
But, this is for a concealed carry gun, and if somebody sees it in public, it pretty much has to be because somebody is trying to rob or kill me.

Actually, quite a few manufacturers now make pink guns. We saw a lady smith with a pink frame, a few revolvers with pink grips, I think a ruger 10/22 rimfire rifle with a pink stock.
Suprisingly little baby blue, though...

I don't really like pink, I would have to go with green.
Just because I'm a girl it doesn't mean I have to have a girly girl gun.

Reminds me that where I live, the political headquarters for McCain is in a gunshop. And only about five feet from the gunshop/campagin headquarter's is an Obama headquarters.
I guess a lot of people who own guns are Republican. They seem to think that Democrats are going to take their firepower away. Which is compleatly a stupid thing to think. No one is going to take away the right to carry guns, it's too engrained in American society and in our rights.
You should have worn your Obama shirt.
I've noticed that everwhere I go and find someone who is an Obama supporter, a compleat stranger, we end up being very friendly to each other, their is a lot of solidarity in having the same beliefs and ideals in a canaidate.
