His setup brings tears to my eyes, I'm really curious as to what he does for a living to be able to afford that.

Months behind....
Seriously, more power to him if this is the hobby he wants to blow his money on. We don't look strangely at people who spends thousands of dollars on comic books or football cards or cars they'll never drive. I just don't see how he can raid like that, 36 accounts or no 36 accounts. At least, he can't possibly raid anything meaningful. No human being can multitask the jobs of 25 people all at once.

I used to be able to play Timesplitters 2 using my feet for one controller and my hands for another. Not very well, but it was still something to see.
11 characters at once, though. World of Warcraft must be pretty easy to play, or else this guy must have a prehensile penis.

It is easy to play, but multi boxing like this guy does isn't terribly difficult, just expensive. You can get broadcasting software that allows keystrokes and mouse clicks on a single keyboard/mouse to transmit to multiple machines, allowing you to use one set of peripherals to control multiple instances of the game.

Monetary issues aside, you'd have to be Agent Smith to be able to play all 36 accounts at the same time. Coordination is key on things like raids after all.

Healing, DPSing, and Tanking all at the same time? I doubt he "raids by himself" and if he does I'm assuming his progress (if any) is ridiculously slow.

And given Blizzard's Barney Fife Policy on anything that might even be remotely construed as a bot, either he's lying about raiding all by himself, he really hasn't done it, or he ought to dethrone Leeroy Jenkins as the new king of WoW Meme.
WoW. Just WoW.

It kind of wears you down after a while though, even after you've invested huge amounts in skills, implants and ship modules.
That being said, it's the only game I know of where you can literally earn millions and get skills while not playing.

This's why I don't like current MMORPG trends - you should not be able to control 36 characters at once, and you should not have to in order to enjoy the experience.
Perhaps if the game involved a bit more than haphazardly farming and grinding, this guy mightn't have delved completely into madness just to make his hobby interesting.

As a pretty pathetic WoW junkie I honestly don't understand how someone can do this. What makes WoW fun is the social element, you're playing with tons of people that you're friends with both in real life and from the game.
Playing 36 characters alone and just griefing other players would get very old, very quick.

This is where pay-to-play leads I guess. Player with enough money can build up characters and sell them to make money back. He might even make a profit ... and play.
Then, is it a game or a business?
That goes to the only thing I really find wrong about what Prepared is doing. He's not really playing the same game as most single-account WoWers. You could say "anyone who criticizes is just jealous" but that only applies when it's a better player beating you, or a better guild beating yours. When the player beats you because he puts in more money in real life ... it's not a game any more.
And I'm not jealous of his setup either. One of those laptops would be enough for me.

When I started I first began on a server withe ppl I knew from EQ, they were literally dragging me by my hand so much, i made a toon on a diff server just so i could learn the game on my own. That toon is my main to this day. I don't like being drug by the nose, I want to learn. What happens if you leave or decide to stop helping me? screw you.. I gotta know myself Like in RL. can tell alot about a person in those games.
Friend of mine recently started playing, he played games like Counterstrike, Battlefield etc before. He came in to this game and ( I admit it has a learning curve, you gotta learn the economy fast) I kept him up and spent massive gold , he not only wanted money to buy his shit with, he wanted all bank space. I finally got tired of the bitching about his bank slots, bought them all and told him to not ask me for shit again. I'm asshole :P Nah he was spoiled ass. He had no idea what it was to make it on his own. He had shit given to him.

For someone to invest that much money, time and effort into this strongly indicates he has no social life. And, I'd wage, probably suffers from some sort of complex that makes him unable to socialise. Prob a border-line autistic, something like that. It would explain how he can get so obsessed, and why he can control 36 characters at once.

I'm saying that, if the price were low enough, I'd consider it. To me, it would be worth spending a half hour's worth of pay to avoid having to do probably two weeks worth of boring grinding to get that 10,000 on my own. To me, it would be worth spending a half hour's worth of pay to avoid having to do probably two weeks worth of boring grinding to get that 10,000 on my own. If I could spend the $10 to get the 10,000, then I could enjoy the fun parts of the game (like raiding) without having to first do the timesink parts of the game (accumulating gold).
Of course, it's all academic, since 10,000 would actually cost $200 according to that ad, not $10.
I did, in EQ years ago. 20$ for like I can't remember atm... I wouldn't now. My play habit/desire has changed .. and my RL money, but even if I had spare rl cash I wouldn't now. I want to earn it in game .. one way or the other.
Sadly I know people who've spent hundreds on play money like that. Too much money or stupid. Their fault.

Clearly he needs to learn about women. But the fact that this is his "life", I doubt any woman would want him....
Ah well, at least he won't reproduce. :D
Pot? Meet kettle.
I was more than happy to learn on my own, but I couldn't even get answers to stupid questions like "Where can I find a merchant."
People wouldn't even spend the time to tell me that, and more than once I'd get told to fuck off.
I found that to be fairly common. I had a gift of three months on WoW when I got my G5 iMac. It was a fun game until I realized I was going to have to spend time fishing -- FISHING -- to get a certain fish's gallbladder or something in order to make a potion I wanted. After a few casts, I thought to myself, "seriously? Fishing?" and let the account expire.
What's worse than the all-too-common assholes in games like that are those who are completely savvy on the ins and outs of the game and relentlessly and obnoxiously mock anyone who isn't and dares to ask questions. It starts with the stupid "lol n00b" bullshit and just gets worse. Fuck that, and fuck anyone who is that petty.

I would put my Bot/Bubbler against you in a PVP zone any day ;)
And if I get to pick the setting Sirens;)
I could probably take you with my Thugs/Dark, RV would be more my speed. :)

Harsh.
Perhaps, but you've not been here long enough to endure his threads.

Wilgrove's own threads are enough to be able to back up such a statement ;)
