Halloween, or All Hallows Eve, is coming soon and here in the US it means hordes of costumed rugrats mooching candy and carved pumpkins. So I've been racking my brain trying to decide on a design for this years carving. To give you an idea of what I'm going for this is last years...

So help me out here with any sugestions for a suitable subject to be immortalized on the Lost Planet's Halloween pumpkin. I'm kinda toying with Mahatma Gandi but I'm not to thrill with pictures I've been able to find. So whadaya say NSG?

This is what I did a year or two ago. (http://img235.imageshack.us/img235/1628/img0684qj6.jpg) The Dremel works awesome, but tends to throw little bits of pumpkin everywhere. My little cousins are coming over next weekend so pumpkin carving is a for sure.

Do something new and creative. Make Jack o lanterns out of anything.

Make a few Apple Jack o lanterns, Cantaloupe Jack o Lantern, and maybe Watermelon Jack o Lanterns. If your skilled enough you should take a stab at a banana Jack O Lantern.

And I still say designs where you only scrape away the outer skin and don't cut all the way through are cheating... I do mine the traditional way.. it's tougher to adapt a design but the results are more impressive

I like that Gahndi pattern. I might've stolen it if I wasn't looking for something a little more simple to do with my cousins.

I can't draw, I can't paint, I can't sculpt, I can't make a model that doesn't look like a ball of glue with something that kinda resembles a car or a plane underneath it, and I cannot carve a pumpkin that doesn't deserve to have the neighborhood shithead put his foot through it.

I can't do any of that either. I am a horribly untalented person when it comes to anything artistic including music and the playing of instruments. But pumpkins are different. Knives are involved. Pointy ones. Those alone change the playing field completely. Come on, just give it try. STAB THAT FUCKING PUMPKIN!!!

Well, the original purpose of a jack-o-lantern was to scare off evil spirits, and she has been protected from witches, and she scares the Hell out of me, I think she would make good subject for a jack-o-lantern. She might also scare off all the kids, thus saving a lot of candy for you..
