For any who are either studying or already speak Japanese, I was wondering if you could help me with some translation I'm working on.

The phrase is: "Dig deep(ly), Biting Root."

Biting Root is a name, if that makes any difference.

What I originally had was: Fukai hote, Surudoi Ne. (Yes, I know it's Romaji and not Kanji/Hiragana, but I know even less of that.) Though I somehow doubt that's entirely accurate, since I more or less 'cherry-picked' the words from the lists provided. 'Surudoi' I found to be 'sharp' rather than 'biting'. Bleh.

What I have are these:

Dig -- horisageru, tatekomoru, sukiokosu

Deep(ly) -- atsui, fukai, fukami

Biting -- rintetsu, rinrintarui, ririshii

Root -- honmatsu, konkan, nekosogi, ne (though I don't know if this one actually refers to the root of a plant or not).

So, anyway. I'm sure there must be some conjugation in all of this, but I have no clue as to the first step.

Any help?

Dig- horisageru
Deeply- fukai (深い)
Biting- kamu (噛む)
Root- ne (根)

Biting root, as a name, would probably come up as Nekamu or Kamune (the only name I´ve seen using ¨ne¨ is Neneko (which means Cat root child). But I´m not a 100% sure on that. I suggest you ask Nervun or Daistallia. They´re better acquianted with Japanese than me.

It's a command, with 'Biting Root' as the name.

And, for the curious, I suppose I'll add that this is related to Bleach.

Juu nen hayaku, my friend. You're SO much less nerdy than me. I, for one, actually spent time imagining how a zanpakuto a character based on me would have would work. Can you beat that?

(Normal look: Kodachi. Shikai: Damase*, Usogiri - Creates an illusory copy of itself. The two "swords" blink in and out all the time and can be teleported between hands, making it quite hard to know where the move is coming from, which sword to block, etc.

Bankai: Mure o kutsugaese, Usogiri** - In group fights, shuffles around the opponent's perception of who is who. Furthermore, appears as a random person from either group and attacks the opponent itself, adding to the confusion. In one-on-one fights, becomes an illusory copy that can change places with its owner easily. The preparation for this move would be yelling "okay, I surrender!", throw the sword on the ground and execute it, parrying attacks if need be. A second blade, an ordinary dagger, would be hidden on my person, to be used by myself while Usogiri fought...)

So, yeah. I'm a nerd and an otaku. And also, as can be surmised by my style of zanpakuto, an asshole. ;)

You do realize that, with MY bankai, you'd just have shot about a third or more of your allies? :p

More or less. Aizen's is more versatile, and mine would be able to fight "on its own" and teleport between hands, but lose the other versatilities, so to speak. In principle, it is similar to Aizen's, yes, but so is Rukia's similar to Hitsugaya's, or Hinamori's to Genryusai's. Also in my defense? I thought about it before I read about Aizen's zanpakutou.

They use the informal. "Ikkorose, Shinsô", "Okire, Benihime", for instance.

Yes, the command is rather polite, but serious. (And yes, very weird for a name, but zanpakutou wouldn't have normal names, would they? :P)

Dig, excavate, sink, shovel (As in shovel earth, not the tool itself). With the current conjugation, it would come out as (please) dig. So a command, but not a barked order from superior to inferior.

Which is pretty much how the relationship between a shinigami and their zanpakuto in Bleach works: Not much of a hierarchy.
