Cellular Provider Recommendations???

I'm finally caving in and purchasing a cell-phone on Friday.

I'm thinking of going with T-Mobile for my provider, but I figured I'd hop on here and ask NSG a few questions.

Which cellular provider do you use?

Are you satisfied with your providers service?

Are there any cellular companies you would avoid if you were purchasing your first phone?

Any horror stories regarding the service of a particular cellular provider?

Any advice is welcome and appreciated. :)

I use Verizon. I'm quite happy with their service. I had Cingular before that, they were pretty bad - lots of dead spots and dropped calls. I haven't had the problem with Verizon.

AT&T is pretty good, as is Verizon (the In network is a nice feature from what I've heard)

Just don't get a RAZR. the phone is shit.

never had any issues with Tmobile. infact after the hurricane ATT and verizon became next to worthless while my Tmobile worked fine.

Which cellular provider do you use? Sprint

Are you satisfied with your providers service? Definitely. I have yet to have one dropped call or late message... Although with some of the crud my friends send, that isn't always a good thing....

Are there any cellular companies you would avoid if you were purchasing your first phone? Nope.

Any horror stories regarding the service of a particular cellular provider? Not really.

i would recomend that celular providers get into another line of work.

or rather, at least, a whole other paridigm way of looking at things, along with the rest of society, that however reluctantly, over time, evolves.

I use Sprint, and have the LG Rumor phone, with the ultra-nifty flip out keypad.

When i wanted a cell phone, I called around to find wich one required the smalled deposit, as my credit was non existant. Sprint only wanted 125$, and most of the others wanted as much as 500$.

The service is great, and i never lose calls.
They are a bit nazi about their money though. They want it...now.

Orange are a great big pile of festering turd. The phone they gave me was ok, but I have a few issues with their service. I'm not fussy, I just like to have reception sometimes and not to lose signal in the middle of a call even in open areas where reception on any proper network would be high. Avoid. For them, "the futures bright" only in the sense of their headquarters burning brightly after I firebomb them.

And I have had an Orange phone for the past 4 years and have no problems at all. No downtime, no reception problems, nowt all has been sweet.

They must just hate me then. Well, now I have discrimination to justify my campaign of terror :)

Please let me know when this is going to happen - I work for them and would like to put a days holiday for that date:)

My HTC Diamond on Orange (obviously) is the best piece of kit I've ever had!!

DoCoMo has done a good job as far as I am concerned. I admit that I don't use half the bells and whistles on my phone, but I honestly don't really need to watch TV on my cell phone!

I have VirginMobile. They're all right as long as you never try to make or receive calls while inside buildings.

there is a an easy to get out of your contract. call into customer service 4 times a day and chat it up about nothing. you will cost the company so much cash they will drop you from their contract and let you keep the phone to boot.

T-mobile, AT&T, Cingular and Alltel were okay.

Sprint was horrible as far as customer service but I was with them about the time they merged with Nex-tel. They triple charged my checking account and refused to credit two of the charges back, and then later refused to acknowledge those charges to my account, then about 2 months later quit my auto-payment without telling me and cut off my phone two days before the bill was even due and reported to the credit agencies that I was delinquent, all the while I wasn't late, I didn't turn off auto-pay and I DID still have at least $200 in credits to pay the bill from when they fucked up earlier.

Sprint, never again.

I'm with Verizon as of 4 days now, I haven't had any problems yet. I haven't really been with them long enough to say though.

I have 3 cell phones, Verizon in the US, Wataniya in Kuwait and Orange in France. I really don't have any problems with any of them, but I really don't use my phone much. Of course, in Kuwait and France I used prepaid so take that for what it's worth.

I have had Verizon, Tmobile and Sprint myself

All have been good to me Verizon was probably best on pure coverage by a bit (none were bad) Sprint seems to have clearer call quality (could be phone too but dont think so) and Tmobile had good coverage and a good price point
