(Just to get his out, for those of you who haven't posted with me before I'm quite left wing. Not communist by a long shot but I do believe in federal funding for the poor, tax increases to improve programs, government funded health care etc.)

On to the real point. What i really want to know is exactly why anyone would want to vote for Harper and his conservatives considering the following.

1)He has misled the Canadian public about the costs around the war in Afganistan (covering up nearly 10 billion dollars)-http://www.thestar.com/FederalElection/article/515247

2)His finance minister is on record Saying that Ontario is the last place he would invest and has mishandled the crisis quite badly (though he seems to be doing better today)

3)His health minister JOKED about a health crisis caused by conservative policies that killed countless people

4)He's trying to convert Canada into the states . . .

Canada joining the US would be excellent, as it'd be the final nail in the republican party's coffin.

Well for one he seems to be the only leader concerned to some degree about Canada's sovereignty in the north.

But I can't vote for Harper (nor would I in any case), he's not running in my riding.

Which health crisis?

The listeria outbreak from a tainted Maple Leaf packaging plant. It killed 20 people across the nation and is suspected of killing several others, as well as making many people sick. The Health minister joked that the crisis was causing the death of the conservative party "by a thousand cuts, or should I say, cold cuts." That's how I understand it, anyway.

Not to mention flipping on his own rule about fixed date elections. He was pissed the liberals kept calling elections at financially inoppertune times for him, so he made a new law that election dates needed to be fixed, then called this election at a time when the liberals cant afford it. Again, this is my understanding of the issue, I might be missing some details.

I wont be voting for him. If not for the fact that I'm not a conservative, then for the fact that I really don't like him, and his adds make me sick.

O boy....had you heared anything that he has been satying or done to Newfoundland & Labardor? God dang it. He screwed us out of billions in the off-shore oiling deal, said that he didn't need us to win a majortiy government and basically treats us as those were the retarded kids on the block.

Harper will do anything to stay in power. He ruthless and hungery for power. When he smiles you can see in he eyes that it not a real smile(yet canadians being stupid like any other human beings) think he Mr.Lovable after a few ads desgined to make him look sweet have aired on tv. Not to forget their lanching noting but negatives ads while the Liberals and NDP are more postive.

But then again, the Liberals are being harmed by them greatly in the polls and their leader(Delion) is to new.

The NDP on the otherhand have hopped onto the "Change" idea and now might overtake the Liberals for Offical Oppostion.

And the ecomny is going to take a sharp downturn. And Harper stezdy hand is noting more but a "I won't do anything in hopes it won't be to bad idea."

Honestly I like how it is. A minortiy government so nobody has to much power and they basically have to work together.

But THEN again I am only 15. So I got three years until I voting anyhow.

Ya I woulda commented on that but I just don't have the data on hand unlike the four I listed which are actually on record. And I totally agree with the minority government. Even if the only reason is cause it should, at least, trip Harper up to a certain extent.

I most certainly won't be voting Conservative this time around, and this is coming from someone who wanted to give his goverment a chance in 2006. (I wouldn't go back and change my vote, because the Liberals needed to be canned for a while.)

My primary reasons for not voting Conservative;

- Complete lack of transparency from a party that promised accountability and open government. He completely turned this notion on its head by leading the most close-mouthed secretive government in Canadian history. Sorry, not what I voted for.

- His method of getting around his fixed-date election law was vile, and in complete defiance of the general principle that it was founded on. (The powers of the Governor General are not changed under the law, so he 'advised' her to dissolve government, and the Governor General is bound by convention to follow the advice of the PM.) So, either he broke his own law, or he essentially made it toothless.
His reasoning for dissolving government is also ridiculous, since he ran that Parliament as if he had a majority, and the Liberals either backed him up, or refused to vote against him. He was able to get everything he wanted, so what does he want so bad that he needs a majority to do it?

Just becuse it Newfoundland. Doesn't mean it never happened.

1.)Harper screws Newfoundland.

2.)You seen the ads of Harper wearing a sweater next to a fireplace...come on...or where he crossing a streetwalk with a child in his hand....

Or how the Convsertive for St.John South/Mount Pearl attacked the Liberals Carbon Plan(using scare tatics mind you) while the Liberal talked about her experiences and what she wants to do.
