From all the terror of this world comes a small ray of hope

When you turn on the TV you are often bombarded with angst and suffering; terriorist attacks, civil wars, government scandals, and other horrors of their kind. The radio is saturated, print as well, and even the internet is filled with such sad tales. However, even within this world of pain and horror, there occasionally comes one small ray of hope. One tiny moment that can not help but lift your spirits, and make you look to the future, which suddenly doesn't look quite so bad.

I'm, basically, a grammar-Nazi.

And I don't really get the point of the cartoon, why don't you just watch the original shots from the game?

I'm afraid that I also fall into the 'haven't read Calvin & Hobbes' camp. Well... I've read two or three, though 'haven't read Calvin & Hobbes, except for two or three I read either in a newspaper or on the internet' just doesn't seem short enough.

Also, just to bloat out my post:

Well, if you don't like cartoons, then obviously there's little point in buying them, but to me it's £60 very well spent.

It's not as if it's your standard comic book. 1500+ pages of an entire run of a strip, in three beautifully presented hardback books.

Each to their own, but if one is a fan of Calvin & Hobbes it's a wonderful thing to have.

Which is just as bad as not knowing who Calvin and Hobbes are.

The latest version hasn't been too great. It survives mostly on reminiscences of how cool it was way back when.

Quite right. You're much better off buying this instead:

And with the 4 poonds saved, you can buy yourself a few Mars Bars to eat while reading it.

So it's kind of like Garfield??

Destroy the blasphemer!

Are my beloved fellow forum members seriously suggesting that Calvin & Hobbes have transcended from just being popular entertainment to the realm of religious devotion? Let the spiritual cleansing begin!

Joy!
