Does it have to be a black van? Can't it be purple, no one suspects the purple!

If it was an omniocracy, it would have to be made of and coloured in like every way. It would be outstandingly ridiculous.

Actually, that makes me wonder of a very interesting invention. A flag lapel that changes to a different nation's flag based on where the wearer is located. Satellites would control it's functions using GPS.
Or we could go with the temperature thing.

Congress: a body whose viewpoints are prone to change at a moment's notice, whether due to changing political climates, a shifting of the voter's opinion, a change in campaign contributions, etc. Especially apparent during the handout of indictments that come around each session.

om·ni·oc·ra·cy - [om-nee-ok-ruh-see]
- noun, plural -cies

1. Government for all living beings; a form of government in which the supreme power is exercised by elected representatives whose responsibility it is to equally consider the interests of all living beings; a form of government in which all living beings are constituents.

2. A political system based upon the philosophical principle of giving value and consideration to all living beings within a community.

Term originated by Dr. Charlotte Laws in 1995. She discusses the idea in her book Armed for Ideological Warfare and in articles, such as "From Democracy to Omniocracy." She argues that democracy is an elite and unjust form of government that ignores the interests of the truly powerless and voiceless members of society, namely nonhuman animals.

Hmmm... me thinks you've managed to pull one out of the air quite by accident...

Omniocracy is the radical animal rights conncept of government including all living things.

A move "left" arguably means to move away from Democracy – which is really just a rule by the elite (humans) – to an Omniocracy (which I describe as a government of, by and for all living beings).

A) No where does it say that "If South Lizasauria posts it it's automatically spamming, flaming, eating babies <paste false accusation here>

B) A Mod has already posted here signifying that this thread has not crossed any boundaries, which would mean that you're using mod as a weapon.

Nope. As has been pointed out, by both Katganistan and myself, it is an extant word for a form of radical animal rights in which all living beings are represented in the government - presumably down to bacteria and virii.

How exactly would that work? I mean, honestly, wouldn't the votes of the carnivore party always be at odds with the herbivore party? I can just see it: at a meeting between the lobby groups of the wolves and the deer, the wolves slowly drag themselves out with overly stuffed stomachs, and the deer end up turning the carpet a nice, deep burgundy.

According to Dr. Laws, the government will settle such disputes, because politicians are fair and non-partisan...

People are self-interested (as are all species) thus cannot be expected to vote against their desires. Legislators, however, are different (or should be) because they attain self-worth from helping others, being fair and inclusive, and consulting the "big picture." Plato got this part of his Republic right in my estimate.

Omniocracy requires abolishing the left-right continuum and forming a new paradigm to balance pragmatic concerns with the needs of all. It would be similar in structure to the representative government upon which we now rely. There will naturally be conflicts of interest between species and individuals; but government's job will be to mediate and arbitrate these "disputes."
http://www.buzzle.com/editorials/3-16-2005-67163.asp

What this means for the prey party and the predator party, I'm not sure... Maybe Dr. Law wants mediation between wolves and deer? The dove party might mediate, but who'll mediate between doves and falcons?
