Will you people calm down already? Palin's novelty will wear off in about three weeks. So will McCain's post-convention bounce. Not to mention, again, "likely voters" only count the people who voted in the last election, and Obama is very good at GOTV operations. There are three debates to go, which both Obama and Biden are poised to win. Relax. They will not succeed at bringing about the Apocalypse.

Ok, Obama is no where near beat yet. Unfortunately, news coverage of polls, and national polls themselves, can be some what misleading.
Remember, elections are decided by electoral votes, or which there are a set number per state. It matches up fairly close to population, but one can lose the popular vote and still win the White House. Not the most democratic of systems, but their it is.
Now, last I heard, Obama was about even with McCain in national polls. However, the electoral college math is heavilly in his favor. Also, the last batch of opinion polls that had them neck and neck was around the conclusion of the GOP convention, or shortly after, so a McCain bump was a given.
It is not over for Obama, though the GOP would certainly like that opinion to be held by the voting public. Maybe if people think Obama's doomed, they'll throw in the towl, stop donating, and even stay home on election day. Talk about a self-fullfilling proffecy.

In that case we will essentially have a Christian equivallent to Iran with nuclear weapons. Given the prevellance of end times beleifs on both sides, their will likely be a war which will be interpereted as the fulfilment of Revellations. The sad, terribly unjust irony being that the people starting the war will be the ones who die happy, given they'll think they're going to meet Jesus/Allah.
Or we could overthrow the Government. I suspect that will become a disturbingly popular idea if this senario plays out.

Its not nearly that bad yet, and doesn't have to be for a long time if people recognize where their country is heading and go for Obama. Besides, if revolution becomes nessisary, then both the citizens and the government have already failed in their responsibillities. Remember, revolutionaries to often become like those they overthrew.
