Seriously he is. They are both about peace, they both oppose killing, fighting an violence. Both cherish knowledge and the equal and fair treatment of all sentient beings. And even when infuriated Johnny 5 barely hurt his quarry, he only captured them so the law could handle them. Should (in the Short Circuit universe) a robot uprising take place I bet Johnny 5 would either gather up some followers and friends and use civil disobedience or convince all the machines to use civil disobedience until the humans promise fairer treatment.

Did you know that in sensory deprivation people's imagination gets wild? I can't remember the name of the documentary, but people started hallucinating proper. Matrix, with the added benefit of not being able to pull the plug ;)
