Which game should I get?

I will eventually buy both, but for now I will only get one, so give me some advice. I love Roman politics (especially or the Triumvirate periods, all that murdering, backstabbing, military strategy, and pandering to the senate!), but I also love American politics, and the designer of The Twilight Struggle made 1960, and who could play TS and not say it is a great game? I am waffling worse than an American politician or Cicero!

I like the idea of getting "rest cubes" while playing a game. They sound so warm and comforting. It's got to be 1960.

Knowing nothing about either game but what could be determined by quickly skimming the linked pages, I'd say that Triumvirate looks more like Risk Roman Style than a game of political intrigue and back biting.
1960, on the other hand, looks pretty cool, and any game that uses over 350 pieces for just two players has to be good.

Look at the rules. There are only fifteen territories in the game, and five go to each player. There are three ways to win: militarily, politically (get elected consul twice), and by acquiring the most "competence points". Thus, the game is more like Diplomacy than Risk, except the theme is far superior, the game only needs three people, and it has money, citizens that can vote, and governors that can run territories. Also, the game only lasts 45 minutes to an hour-and-a-half.

There is no doubt that 1960 would be very enjoyable, considering its unique theme and excellent board. The only trouble is, unlike The Twilight Struggle, all the scoring is done at the end, so the tension would not be as great. And although I think the TS is system is superb all-around, and great for this game, it is true that I have played TS much, so 1960 would not feel as "new" as Triumvirate.
I'd say it was time to get out the Toga.

Monopoly. Seriously, both of those are going to be board-knocking nightmares.

Psh, you've obviously never played much Ameritrash, Magic Realm (for instance) makes both of those games look like Uno in comparison. I remember at least two games ending in fist fights.

I'd go for End of the Triumvirate. It would appear to me to have more replay value (eventually, you know all the cards in a CDG) and greater flexibility, being eith 2 or 3 players.
