I guess this means that ~20 % of Hillary supporters is going to vote for John McCain now. This news came out today, and it appears that they're really pissed off.

here’s one Democrat who would seem to have little or no chance of being picked by Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) to be his running mate – his former opponent, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.).

But it’s not for the reason you think.

Obama has often said, most recently on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on July 27, that Clinton “would be on anybody’s short list.”

But apparently not his.

“She was never vetted,” a Democratic official reported. “She was not asked for a single piece of paper. She and Senator Obama have never had a single conversation about it. How would he know if she’d take it?”

The official also said Clinton never met with Obama’s vetting team of Eric Holder and Caroline Kennedy.

Denver is looking like more and more fun now.

How is this in any way surprising?

Did anyone seriously think Clinton would get the nod?

Well, it doesn't help to keep calling Obama "my opponent"

http://newsbusters.org/blogs/mark-finkelstein/2008/08/21/hillary-still-calling-obama-my-opponent

That's what we glean from Hillary's startling statement in Florida today. Chris Matthews aired it at the top of tonight's Hardball:

HILLARY CLINTON: I am doing everything I can to campaign for Senator Obama. I think it's fair to say that I have done more, as Senator Rich said, in a relatively short period of time, on behalf of my opponent, than probably anyone else has.

So not only is she bragging on her own accomplishments. Hillary's still calling Obama . . . "my opponent." The point was not lost on Matthews.

her insisting on being put into nomination AND her and her husband getting speeches makes me thin that she is going to try to steal the nomination somehow.

its just paranoia, right?

But now, we have come almost to the end. One last step. And then when I take power, they will be pulled down and ground into dirt for what they did to me. And what they did in so contemptuously underestimating me.

We would like to apologise for the way in which politicians are represented in this thread. It was never our intention to imply that politicians are weak-kneed political time-servers who are concerned more with their personal vendettas and private power struggles than the problems of government, nor to suggest at any point that they sacrifice their credibility by denying free debate on vital matters in the mistaken impression that party unity comes before the well-being of the people they supposedly represent, nor to imply at any stage that they are squabbling little toadies without an ounce of concern for the vital social problems of today. Nor indeed do we intend that viewers should consider them as crabby ulcerous little self-seeking vermin with furry legs and an excessive addiction to alcohol and certain explicit sexual practices which some people might find offensive.

We are sorry if this impression has come across.

So Hillary's camp is still acting like they're the victim. They're still acting like they should be on the presidential ballot.

Their constant bitching about sexism and their cranky attitude towards Obama, just because he (who has to deal with racism in this election) got the nomination, is getting old. They're dividing the party with their ignorance.

So the people who support Obama, who continue bitching about Hillary despite her efforts to help Obama in his race (with appearances, speeches, etc. in support of him and uniting the democratic party) are perfectly okay?
