Can you stay outside forever?

Debate Side A: There's only so much outside a civilized person can take before he needs to use the bathroom.

Debate Side B: Um.... He's not civilized.

What?

But allow me to answer, he may not need a 'bathroom', it is called a tree and it is called a hole.

So, side B.

Being civilized is a myth. The only reason I play by the rules and don't throw feces at people is all the shiny stuff I have. That and I want to live long enough to see Miley "I'm only famous b/c of my dad" Cyrus crash and burn worse than Britney Spears.

So, side B.

Umm no, well only if the premise of your argument is that a man must use the bathroom in order to be civilised.

But then I don't know what the point of this thread is.

uhhm... so, basically you are just asking people on this forum whether they feel the need to go to the toilet in a real toilet I assume, or whether they are capable of toughing it if they have to?

You're going to get a very 1 sided debate here. Hell, I'd think half the people on these forums wear nappies so they can keep on clicking refresh to see if anyone has said *nod* recently...

A cat hole's a cat hole. Just make sure you're back far enough from your site and water and there you go.

Hell, I've even used the STICK!

Of course that doesn't even begin to compare with the supposedly civilized Japanese style toilets I've encountered here, but it cannot be helped.

Have you ever been outside a major urban population center?

And corn fields make nice bathrooms if your shy. Just walk in 5 rows and do what you have to do.

Many years of boyscouts has taught me that outside IS a bathroom.
Just watch out for snakes. And cacti. And extremely large crickets, grasshoppers and other jumping insects.
And rabbits.
You know, funny story, we were out on a camping trip once when... :p

Don't be silly. The only reason to go outside is to travel between two or more insides.

From age 4 to 13 I spent most of my time outside. Yes I'm perfectly capable of surviving off the land if I have to.

When the apocalypse comes, the rest of ya'll are fucked.

Turn off your computer. You'll discover that there are light sources outside your LCD screen.

I was involved in a wilderness survival training course. I was trained to live off the land, forage for food, provide adequate (barely) shelter and survive. I was left alone in the woods for 4 weeks. It gets lonely, but other than that, yes people can definitely survive outside for a lifetime!

Well, when you go to a trip to the amazon jungle...It's not easy to find "insides", you know. It's the outside or the outside.

Can you remain outside forever? No, but not by physiological reasons. In most weathers, you will have to find shelter to protect yourself from elements. Mind you, I am including tropical "paradisiacal" beaches, (because I have been to one too many camping trips to those), storms are not nice when you are caught in the open.

Debate side C: Forever is, um, like - forever? You'd be dead before you could be anywhere forever.

Side B.

Trees and a hole, as said before. Or hell, you don't even really need to dig the whole, unless you are camping around the area or something.

Side B. A lot of people have done it, including myself. I personally on camping trips but as pointed out before we need shelter but if you mean could we live in a jungle/forest/desert it's indeed possible.

I suppose you'd still technically be outside if your corpse is rotting in the woods.

Well, you could corpse -> nutrients -> tree -> wooden furniture.

Damn those trees and their insatiable hunger!
