*shakes fist*
Beaten by ten minutes! Bah!
a huge invisible friendly blob of energy. IT created EVERY self awaire being in its "immage", and its a big universe out there, and people on worlds orbiting different suns don't look anything like people on other worlds from their own orbiting different suns from their own. so there's no way that image bit, can possibly be refering to physical appearance. besides, how could the limitations impossed by HAVING a physical appearance, a singe fixed one, not have prevented what most beliefs claim IT to have done?
the one explanation i've heard that made sense, is that as sentient beings, we were created in the 'image' OF A CREATOR. i.e. our drive to express ourselves creatively, which is really, the only thing observable, all our surrounding ourselves and isolating ourselves from the rest of existence by doing so, with the artifacts of our own creation, that distinguishes ourselves from the zillions of other life forms we share THIS planet with.
so what does IT 'look' like. it doesn't HAVE a look like, not one single absolutely fixed "look like" anyway. it can, at least in principal anyway, 'look like' any damd thing it damd well feels like, whenever it damd well feels like, and to whomever, et cetera.
look out, that ash tray setting over there could be GOD. or the dust beneath the road you drive on or the floor or sidewalk you walk on.
there is nothing (tangable) more noble then the dust, that in its humility permits us to tread upon it. beware lest one make even the dust grow weary.

Who says "God" has to conform to any single race?
Only if black becomes white, and my penis drop down a size or two.
then obvoiusly you can't be "god". i believe that was the point. as in "i met her and she's black".
but we've all 'met' IT and its an IT. most people just occlude having done so.
invisible <> imaginary
invisible = unknown
imaginary = what people think they know about it
Who says "God" has to conform to any single race?
or species, or planet, or anything!

God could be the only member of his species?
Morgan Freeman...duh!
Seconding this.
God could be the only member of his species?
would almost have to be as western beleifs define the concept. of course there's absolutely no reason to assume they have the slightest idea what the're talking about either.
could be absolutely ANYthing, any place, any time, even a big green invisible fox person, if and when, IT felt like it. or a whole bunch of different things at the same time. could even be some wiered kind of compound being so strainge concepts like singular or multiple become meaningless.
and the only sense in which i'm able to see it being able to be a he or a she is in the sense of he, rather then it, being the default pronoun in the english language for sentient awairnessess. i really see IT, if we will allow a sentient, supersentient awairness to be an IT, as making more sense the 'he' or 'she'. because a binary gender, being either half of it, is only being half of the whole, so how could an ultra uber super ultimate everything, possibly be an incomplete half of its potential?

George Burns, clearly.
Actually, 'in his image' is a common misunderstanding. He made us in his mirror like one cuts up cocaine, which is why things are so fucked up and explains a lot of his big mood swings early on. But once he had a kid he mellowed out and decided to let things be what they are.

He bears a strikingly physical resemblence to that chap Hitler. Confuses a lot of people when they first enter through 'dem pearly gates and see that the joint is seemingly run by the erstwhile Fuhrer. Sometimes, to continue the illusion a little longer, he rants at them in German for several minutes. He might be the boss, but he's got a mighty fine sense of humour. Does wonders for morale.
Have you forgotten your scripture, the thirteenth scroll? "And Proteus brought the upright beast into the garden and chained him to a tree and the children did make sport of him."

You know some people view Hitler as something of an Idol/Deity which lead to the creation of religions such a "Esoteric Hitlerism".

Oh, and how our most witty Lord exploits this to the full! Those who believe such things are brought in through a side door into heaven and dressed in full Nazi uniform. They stand behind "Hitler", saluting him and his speech, and rejoice that the evidence before their eyes seemingly validates their beliefs. Then, with great comic timing, he switches to his normal voice, spins round to the frightened fascists and says "oh, but don't worry, you'll meet your hero soon enough", shortly before a trapdoor to hell opens beneath their feet. Its got great crowd reactions, and has now become an established part of his routine.

Feel free to correct me with sources. Since humans are supposed to have originated in Africa and it is quite likely that white skin is a mutation the "black skinned original human" is quite defensible.
Besides, it is a great claim to annoy the Klan with ;)

human beings are not "created".
"creator" is not the real identity of the Divine, or the Unconditional dimension of Existence.
"creation" in not the real identity of "the world", or the conditional dimension of Existence.
Existence is One and Single---both Self-Existing Consciousness and Self-Radiant Energy---without any separation between these dimensions.
"God" and "the world" are not separate.
the Divine is Self-Revealed in, and by, and As Whosoever Realizes Him.
that's what god "looks like"---His Realizer(s).
and His Realizer re-cognizes his own Self, in all conditions that arise, As the Very Divine.
