Dolores Aguilar has passed...

I was sent this link by someone, and I thought we should commemorate the life of Dolores Aguilar.

Here's her obituary:

EDIT: Article no longer available. Relevant text is below:

Dolores had no hobbies, made no contribution to society and rarely shared a kind word or deed in her life. I speak for the majority of her family when I say her presence will not be missed by many, very few tears will be shed and there will be no lamenting over her passing.

Her family will remember Dolores and amongst ourselves we will remember her in our own way, which were mostly sad and troubling times throughout the years. We may have some fond memories of her and perhaps we will think of those times too. But I truly believe at the end of the day ALL of us will really only miss what we never had, a good and kind mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. I hope she is finally at peace with herself. As for the rest of us left behind, I hope this is the beginning of a time of healing and learning to be a family again.

There will be no service, no prayers and no closure for the family she spent a lifetime tearing apart. We cannot come together in the end to see to it that her grandchildren and great-grandchildren can say their goodbyes. So I say here for all of us, GOOD BYE, MOM.

Actually, I'm saving this to a text file for later. I might need it.

Someone no one will miss, apparently. Someone sent me that obituary as a humorous piece of literature, and I thought I would share.

I don't see how an obituary could ever be funny, especially not one that seemed to be quite heartfelt written.

Whomever sent that to you as a "humorous piece of literature" should be ashamed.

Well, it quit working for me too. Fortunately, I happened to still have it up from before.

Here's the relevant part.

Damn. Imagine taking the time to write something that horrible about a dead family member. What the hell did she do, castrate them in their sleep?

Indeed. Without knowing the details of the history involved (or even weather this is a fake), I find that incredibly sad. Imagine being so hated that no one will mourn your death even in your own familly.

I feel more sorry for the person who wrote it who is so utterly, thoroughly and completely consumed by their bitterness. It must be a miserable existence.

Well, apparently her family thought she was a grade-A bitch.

Judging from the bile, they were awake while it happened.

Ick. I hope I can get someone else to write my mom's obituary so that doesn't happen.

I don't agree that we shouldn't speak ill of the dead.

Enjoy feeing the worms, Pinochet. For example.

If they wouldn't miss her, why did they bother with writing the obituary in the first place? NSG has invented a term for this pretentious soapbox attention-whoring but it's a bannable offense due to the "honoree" taking great offense at it.

Why does fame have to be a factor? If Dolores had been, say, Michael Jordan, there would have been at least 50 RIP posts so far. I am proud to say I would not have been one of those people. The world is missing nothing more from losing an overpaid, retired athlete, than it does from losing a no-name person from nowhere. Equality in death!

RIP Dolores, RIP.

Thank you, Galloism, for enlightening us with the news of such a tragedy.

i think the funeral home will do it for you if you give them the names that need to be mentioned.

Wow, someone who was such a bitch, that her own family actually spent money to put in an Obituary detailing how much of a bitch she was.

I wouldn't want to meet her.

Love it, there's something quite warming about a family riven with petty pickering - reminds me of childhood listening to stories from my parent's wide circle of friends - the amusing revenges, the betrayals and more.

Real life soap opera is the best.
