LITTLE ROCK — The chairman of the Arkansas Democratic Party was hospitalized in critical condition Wednesday after an incident at the party headquarters, a party executive said. A television station reported that three shots were fired and that a man escaped the area in a blue truck.

A suspect has been shot and apprehended, police said.

It will be interesting to see who the suspect is, and what his motivations were. I had the feeling that this year will be uglier than most in terms of political violence, and I may be right.

clearly this was an attack on obama's party, by a McCain supporter. Since McCain is using such brutal tactics, he must be disqualified. /sarcasm

For real though, this sucks. At least they caught the shooter, and here's to hoping that the chairman makes a full recovery.

Yes, it does suck. Most of the delegates are pledged to Hillary (from Arkansas) so I'm wondering if this is just a simple nutjob, or the chairman and the shooter had some prior argument.
