They told me I had to have a party to run for Parliament. So I'm throwing a party.

There's only one platform and it holds the drinks.

Ok, apparently a 10-line manifesto is required for the party before I can run for office. I propose the following:

1. Drinks.

2. More drinks.

3. Drinks for everyone.

4. Drinks to consist of the following:

5. Beer of choice.

6. Wine of choice.

7. Hard liquor of choice.

8. Soft drinks for Neo Bretonnia (if he joins).

9. Food.

10. A large platform to hold it all.

11. Mud and tacos for LG (if he joins).

If any of you have changes or additions, please let me know. If you approve this platform, let me know.

Oh, one last item - no illegal drugs, only legal ones.

The platform should be two feet tall and made of wood.

I give this one a meh.

If I understand correctly (and correct me if I'm wrong), the minimum age in the UK is 16 (or is that for sex). In any case, in an ideal situation the legal age would be determined on a case by case basis.

Ok, the NIFLPP will not be counted out.

As Party President and Resident Paranoid I establish the following serious manifesto:

1. Prohibition doesn't work. Though I, personally, feel that moderation in all things is best, I support the legalization, regulation and taxation of vices, including drugs, prostitution and gambling.

2. I recognize that putting age limits on certain activities is arbitrary - if you are old enough to take the responsibility of earning a living or fighting for your country, you are old enough to participate in the running of the country and in indulging in vices.

3. No matter what your age, if you have demonstrated that you cannot or will not take responsibility, you will be barred from participation in government and prevented by law from indulging in vices.

4. There is to be total equality before the law and of opportunity for everyone. You are free to rise or fall based on your own abilities and drive to succeed, as long as what you do is legal and not harmful to others.

5. Recognize that there is no such thing as a free lunch. Everything has a cost, if not to you the individual, then to someone else.

6. There are no excuses. If the government screws up, then the people have the right to change the government.

7. Children need to be protected from exploitation.

8. PETA will be outlawed until and unless it demonstrates that it can act responsibly to both people and animals.

9. Privacy is a right to be protected.

10. Political correctness, while nice in theory, is oppressive. I might not like your opinions and you may not like mine, but we have the right to them, however stupid they may be.

11. Religion. You believe what you want, but keep it to yourself unless someone actually outright asks you about it. As far as I'm concerned, your religion is more personal than your sex life. If you do start an usolicited discussion about it, be prepared for arguments.

There's my party manifesto. Take it or leave it. Party on.
