Unmanned space mission to the Isle of Wight

Turdovia

Turdovia is thrilled to announce (smugness all round) that we are the first country in the East Pacific region, indeed the World, to launch an unmanned space craft to the Isle of Wight. Why are we doing this you may ask? Simply because no one else has attempted it. We are confident of success and will be launching our rocket - Turd 1 - from our space station in Brownboozeington, Turdovia. The press were invited, but declined because they said: "...why can't you just take the ferry like everyone else?". Of course we ignored such an absurd idea. Date of launch to be announced. Any countries wishing to show their support for our bold mission, please make yourselves known! :hail:

Are you crazy? Do you know what fowl creatures lurk there on that island?

If our great flight of fancy is not general enough, which forum do you suggest we go to?

Don't be such a chicken, unless you suspect fowl play?

We've no idea what repulsive creatures lurk there. Please let us know before we launch our precious rocket into the unknown. What kind of creatures are we discussing here? The Afterburner Pheasant? Or possibly the Lunar Module Mole?

One of the RP forums. Unless I've been assuming incorrectly for three years, General isn't an in-character forum.

Nationstates is set up in a few different forums.

One is General. Welcome, friend! In General, you talk about out-of-character stuff that doesn't have to do with Nationstates. For instance, real life events are out of character.

In character means you are role-playing your Nation as though that nation exists. Out of Character means you are just being yourself.

Second, is Moderation. Moderation deals with forum violations and whatnot.

Third, you have the RP forums, which is where you want to be. I think you would probably want International Incidents, which can be found here:

Of course, a moderator will probably be here shortly to send your thread on over on over(Red rover...).

Anywho... hope this helps. :P

I'd go on a rocket to the Isle of Wight. Would beat flying in some boring short range jet.

All sounds a tad too heavy for us. We were of the belief that the rĂ´le playing (in character) aspect of Nationstates was the crux of the "Game"? After all even within the confines of the forum sub-categories "you" all use your respective country names for identification, and not "Joe Bloggs".

Really? If that's so, I've seen maybe a handful IC threads in three-plus years. I guess the World Cup and the occasional bar thread pops up every so often.

And the office party. And the numerous groin kicks by LG. And countless other things...

Ask LG about his... what were they? Groin attack weasels, or something like that. Then tell me this isn't IC.:D

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who interprets the word "General" literally, Intangelon! Why classify anything as "general" if you really intend it to be "specific" in context? Also how does anyone know that we (Turdovia) are not being serious with our postings here? Obviously we are not but that is besides the point. We posted here because it quite clearly states in the relevant forum sub-heading: "General for discussion and debate about anything". Therefore if one takes this as a literal statement this means "anything" even discussing what old Red Hamish had for his breakfast in 1870 on the Isle of Rockall.

Personally I would favor an unmanned zeppelin mission to the Isle of Wight, but that's mainly because of budgettary reasons.

We could consider this idea next year; our government is always hungry for other peoples ideas (and then claim them as our own). Yes, you've got something there Hurdegaryp!

Does it really matter in the greater scheme of things whether something is "in character" or "out of character"? It would be more constructive to go to the pub don't you think?

Oh yes... I spent a year on that damn chav-raft... It'd be a good place for a penal colony, IMHO. Actually, it's already half way there.

You believe they have evolved enough technologically there to actually have an airport capable of handling a jet? Think again, my dear friend.
