Having seen roughly 15 of these "Official NSG '........'" threads, I'm wondering: How do we define an official thread from an unofficial thread? Is officialism just a title to increase readership, or does it have real meaning?

put one up. if it stays on the board without
1) the mods moving it.
2) the mods deleting it
3) The mods closing it
4) being inactive for more than 3 days straight
5) drops down to a page where no one looks for it

Then it's offical.

it loses it's offical status when one of the above occures.

We don't. It's a first come first served kind of thing.

It's only official when AdmIfreann says it's official.

I've never used "official" in a title (though I did check my past threads to see :p) but I understand it to mean that you're anticipating multiple threads on that topic and want to designate your thread as the first, since duplicates are locked or joined to the first.

An official NS anything thread will have been posted by or stuck by the mods. All else are faux.

It's official because once I typed official into the thread title and will remain so until Mods change it, even when it falls into the archives it will still remain official
