The liberal media exposed
I think this is just hilarious. It points to how the American Media is calling Obama arrogant, pompous, etc. Political commentary makes this a lot of fun. He points out while McCain calls Obama an arrogant, elitist, out of touch with reality of his promises. Just take a look at what McCain says he'll have done by the time his first term is done.... "I WILL BE A GOD!!!!! Muaaahhhaaaah!"

"American faucets will have three settings... hot, cold, and fudge!"
"I know how to win wars!"- McCain. Funny stuff indeed.

He really went Dean?
At work this fella made mention of Pelosi and yesterday's events on the floor ... and said he didn't think the media would cover it.
I asked him why he would think that wouldn't get any coverage.
He said "liberal media blahblahblabbityblaboo"
I asked him again what made him think that it wouldn't get any coverage, especially something so tumultuous and obviously argument-inciting.
He said it's a matter of fact that "the media" glosses over the important things, especially if there's an energy issue or some important legislation that needs to come through, which this vote was supposed to certainly qualify.
I asked him how he heard about it at work - if he was on the net again when he was supposed to be working.
He said he heard it on Hannity.
I said, oh, the Hannity who declared Bush president before anything else factual actually did? By several hours, even? As in, putting spin on things?
He said he was in his truck and heard it on Hannity, since he listens to him.
I said funny, i hadn't heard. And since i wasn't there, and neither was he, it would stand to reason that there was a third party involved in some way.
He said he didn't quite get it.
I told him that he had taken the circumstance from "the media" and was going ahead to tell people about what he'd heard without actually knowing the facts.
And hopefully it wasn't just a dramatic interpretation of otherwise boring events.
I also pointed out that whether he liked it or not, Hannity *is* THE MEDIA, and he really doesn't have much of an argument there. It really wasn't a matter of liberal media keeping anyone from knowing anything.
He said of course it was.
I said you might consider, that conservatism is quite successful for such a pervasive liberal media.
He said not as much as it should be.
I pointed out that "liberal" media outlets, for the majority of the five networks, were owned by conservative companies, so it really wasn't as liberal as he might want.
He said that they were still liberal outlets. I said, again, owned by conservative corporations who have no problem making money with liberal ideas to an obviously interested public, concerned with social interests.
Still making money on it.
He walked off.

I used to do that but the price of marshmallow has gone through the roof. Now I just hit them over the head with a spade and run off.

Which reminds me ... last time he & i'd had that kind of exchange, the same sub went over to his door and drew out a big announcement that this particular guy is voting for Obama.
I, after enjoying a certain Daily Show episode, altered the announcement a smidge (after it'd hung on his door unnoticed for 3 hours), and scratched out "Obama" to write "Oboner".
It's still there, third week running.

It's gonna be so copied, though. What about 'God of Mischief'? or 'Ninja Clown'?
How long can they be? Can I fit: "Crazy to English/English to Crazy Dictionary'?

Realise there's a bias and take it into account? Like with all media regardless of it's political leanings?

Wouldn't it be pretty hard to tell? Everyone's definition of conservative and liberal may be different, as they view the world with their own bias. As such, a slightly conservative outlet to you, looks like a liberal one to me, and vice versa. But yes, generally the best thing to do is watch a little of as many stations as possible that seem to have opposing views, and take into account their bias by thinking critically of what they're saying.
That said I hate Keith Olberman, the way most liberals probably hate Hannity.
I seriously can't stand the guy.

True, but there are objective definitions of 'conservative' and 'liberal' that we can compare our biases to.

I particularly loved where McCain said he knew how to win wars and Stewart (loosely quoted) said, "Yet you haven't chosen to us thiswhile both wars that you are linked to were not won."

The thing is, I hate Hannity, not because he's conservative, but because he lies all the time to support his conservatism. In his defense I suppose I have to add that he must lie because the truth flies in the face of American Conservatism.
But why do you hate Olberman? Just because he's liberal?

A very good question posed here and I'd like the answer. If you dislike Olberman that is your right, but why? If you simply dislike him because he holds an opposing view than that is the definition of stupid. If you dislike him because he's dishonest (see Sean Hannity) and you can provide examples then that makes sense. I dislike Hannity very much. I don't dislike him because he is a conservative at all. I dislike him because he is dishonest and intentionally ignorant. His style is just to scream over people who use reason. Anyone who is so sure of themselves that they cannot combat an opposing argument deserves to be spat upon.

I would think that any news organizations that actually sued to be able to lie in court is a little bit biased.
