GM has that function too. You appear on the list in order of activity. Since you just loaded the thread, you'll always be first on the list as you see it(well, most of the time). To everyone else, you might be in the middle or at the end, depends how often you reload the thread.

I think I'll use hybrid mode for a while, see how that works out.

im going to try hybrid for a while too. it seems like it should be a help but with it being out of time order it might lose posts in long threads.... right?

ive always hated threaded mode. it takes too long to read popular threads.

im already not fond of hybrid mode but i guess ill leave it on for a while -- at least until i realize how many posts ive missed.

Wow, this brings back memories of the pre-Jolt days... I remember when we'd get excited when we saw that peculiar orange name within the forum viewers notifying everyone that [violet] was around.

And my name was green because I was a mod. And had a capital S at the beginning. My lower-class billing bugs me sometimes.

Yeah, I like that. My old system of keeping a row of tabs open with the pages of posters I was interested in (whether they'd still be participating in the thread or not, that kind of thing - pervs!) was rather tiresome, and got downright nasty when the new pages show who's visited the page last.

Though of course I herewith officially protest the massive loss of anonymity and privacy we gradually suffered these last weeks.
