The worst of the worst

Some of you may have heard me giveing bus drivers a hard time, calling them cunts all of them, not even a redeming feature in the lot of them.

Which was one again adequatly prooved to me last night.

I'm on the bus home from my brothers house after a nice game of cards, it was about 11:30, and I managed to get the last bus home.

So I'm approaching my stop, and I hit the bell a whole one stop before my actual stop. The bus stops, the driver looks around, I wave my hands and call sorry mate wrong one.

The bus starts up again, and despite me ringing the bell again, and again, the fucker takes me three stops past mine, as some kind of a lesson I guess, in fact I have a feeling he wouldn't have stopped there, if I hadn't gotten up and umm had words with him.

Bus drivers I fuckin' hate em. What about you, who is the worst of the worst?

Naaa that couldn't be it. I'm not the complaining type, but I have given them a few mouthfulls in the past, but I'm sure there is no big anti Peeps conspiracy from the bus drivers of London.

Or ask the young family getting on the bus wih foldup pram and two kids in tow, to have the bus driver pull of at top speed before the kids are saftly seated, just becuase he's a ****.

Or ask the under 12 year olds who obviosuly look 12 years old, but are refused entry to the bus because they happen not to have their ID cards with them, just because, yep that's right, he's a ****.

Heh I do sorta get why they are like that though. Driving in the London traffic all day, having tight and I mean tight route times to stick by, and then having to deal with arseish customers, I do sorta get it. But fuckem, just coz some little shit has wound you up, don't take it out on me, and really if you job is to ferry Joe Public around in a big fuck off hunk of metal, and you let the stresses of the job out whilst on the job, then perhaps you should not be allowed to drive around such a freakin killing machine.

No, not always (at least where I'm living) and besides they're trying to do their jobs properly and get you to where you're going in a timely manner and it pisses you off? Give them a break.

Most bus drivers on the Santa Cruz metro service are pretty nice. One is a complete asshole though. He drives the express campus bus, which only stops at a few places.

One time I was on said line, with this jerk driver, and the girl standing next to me was sweating even though it was quite cold out. She looked very ill. As we were coming up to a stop that this bus line didn't stop, she asked him if he could just let her off. He said no. She then asked with a very emphatic please, stating that she needed to get off the bus because she was going to throw up.

He just pointed at the bus's trash can.

Same here. I've never really had a problem, but then I rarely use the bus as it's only a few mins walk to the DLR from where I live. I have far less patience with the passengers than the drivers. For some people the idea of head/ear phones was just something intended for other people.

Oh, and those buses DO have ringbells. Here you need to shout "Stop, please!"

Have you seen a bus going at 120 kph with a full charge of passengers inside?

Have you been in a bus where the driver is listening to reggaeton at full volume?

Come to Latin America and you will know the TRUE heinous bus drivers.

Wowsers! No machete incidents here, and the bus drivers are generally very nice. They're pretty much unfirable, too, so they don't really have a motivation to be as nice as they are. I've run across a few exceptions, but I write that off to there being bad apples everywhere.

As for no-goods, I've never had a cable installer come to my house who wasn't late, skeevy, and weird. Maybe that's just a Comcast thing.

Petty authority, in all it's detestable forms, is the worst of the worst. It starts as hall monitors in elementary school and continues all the way up to things like middle management or housing association presidents. Give someone with insecurities and low self esteem any authority, and it's usually a recipe for a class-A pain in the ass.

Horrible bus drivers? I've got one...

So, its a fairly late night. I have to take the bus to/from college, and basically was at class all day because of the lovely schedual of courses I had to take, with nice three hour breaks between classes, and a 1 1/2 hour bus drive to/from campus (from the start of the route to the end.) I got to my first class around 8-ish, ended around 7.
So, around 8 o'clock, about a hundred feet from the last bus stop, the driver pulls off to the side of the road.
Great, I figure. The bus broke down or something.
I had my headphones in, but I noticed he was saying something. I figured he was talking on his radio or whatever.
After a few minutes, he still hadnt moved, but was talking, rather loudly, I noticed. I was at the back of the bus and could hear him over my music.
So, I walk up to the front of the bus out of curiosity, to ask him whats going on.

The guy's praying. Had some sort of cap on his head and was bowing to the wheel of the bus while shouting in what sounded like Arabic (I could be wrong, of course, my knowledge of Arabic is somewhat limited). At around 8:45, he decided to stop the bus, a short distance from the bus stop to pray.
I couldnt get off because, for whatever reason, he had chosen to disable the button that opened the doors.

Of course, it only took ten minutes, but seriously, the guy couldnt have taken the thirty seconds to drive to the bus stop, or at least let me off the bus so I could've walked to the bus stop.

To me:
Bus drivers: some pricks who think that their bus license gives them the right to be arrogant. But they are easily enough put down by being nice to them. (Nothing pisses of a grumpy bastard as much as cheerfully saying hello)

Taxi drivers are the worst I believe! (atleast around here). As a good story for this: I was out one night, and was calling it an early night because I had a shift in the morning and had to be sober enough and awake enough to drive there. Anyway I manage to get a taxi pretty quickly (grabbing it as other people jump out ftw!) and got in. The driver was an Indian bloke, and was quite incapable of speaking English. Anyway, he asks me where I wanted to go, I told him my address several times before he finally understood. And starts pulling out. Now, this was actually new years eve so there was a bit of traffic around. When he was pulling out he almost got us hit twice. Then befor he is even pulled out he starts fiddling with a bloody gps thing. I told him "Don't worry, I know where I am going" of course, that didn't stop him and he kept on trying to enter my address (asking me again). So after 3 more near accidents, he finally gets it in. And starts completely ignoring it! He seriously headed the opposite direction and didn't turn around until I told him that he was going the wrong way. After an illegal U turn (almost crashing again) we were on our way. It was the scariest taxi ride of my life. He got lost several times, and finally ended up at home.
Now, usually I am pretty generous when I give out tips (not that common in Aus) but he is the first taxi driver I have given no tip to in a long time.

Powertrippers: I deal with annoying powertripping control freaks all the time in both my jobs. It drives me crazy, because I'll be more experienced (and bare legal responsibility) and they will start telling me what to do and how to do it. Problem is that it is often people who if they complained about me, I would get fired. So, I have to make do with secretly hitting them with a baseball bat in my head.
