i was watching the news this morning. one of the stories was about a bill going through the house. i dont know all the details but my understanding was this:

there is a bill that if passed would get rid of tax breaks for oil spectators. and in theory could cut gas prices in half within 30 days.

now this dosnt make alot sense to me so this thread has too points.

1) what are the details of this bill

2) do you think it will work.

Find whoever told you this and punch them in the face. Really hard.

Some discussion of the bill can be found here: http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=558653

As you can see, any potential to reduce prices at the pump would at best be a long-term gain. It wouldn't amount to anything like half, and it wouldn't be in anything like 30 days. And if you ask me, it is far more realistic that it won't affect prices at all.

So whoever told you this is either a tad on the slow side, or trying to bullshit you.
