Are you introverted or extroverted?

bipolar.

Depends on who I'm with. If I am with people I am comfortable with, I can be a loud prick, otherwise I am pretty quiet.

Simply question really. Do you tend to be more introverted or extroverted?

Introverted. Unless I'm stressed. Then I spread stress everywhere.

Depends. In the classroom or with people with whom I am comfortable, extroverted.

Drop me into a party, and I'm very very very very introverted.

Save for family and a few close personal friends, Introverted baby!

Unless I'm stressed out or mad, then I become extremely extroverted.

probably introverted, then again i don't like how it's slotted into either introverted or extroverted. I mean really, there's loads of different types of people and to group them under one of two names is either pointless or time consuming.
So i prefer intro-logic with extroverted skill.:)

I'm introverted unless I know the person(s) in question, but even then it's only slightly more extroverted than normal. I just don't like socializing.

I'm actually not that sure. I'm a nerd at school, but not afraid to voice my feelings. Then I come up to someone that has a little bit of power over my life and I immediately clam up.

With some people I'm the loudest in the room, with others I can barely speak a word (if I'm lucky).

Depends, If you think that occasionally leaving your room despite the risk of bumping into people you have to talk to is extroverted, then I might be able to make a case that I'm extroverted. Not a strong one, but a case nevertheless :p

you can still be introverted and be a loud prick. you can be quiet as a mouse and still be an extrovert. the issue is really where you draw your energy from. if you find yourself feeling drained after being with people, you're probably an introvert. while you're with those people you could be the loudest, most over-the-top loudmouth on earth, but if you find yourself needing time and space alone afterwards to 'recharge' or feel normal again, then it would appear you're an introvert.

extroverts on the other hand are energised by being around other people and crave company, as opposed to craving being alone.

thats what i understand it to be about, at least. the matter of whether or not you are loud or conversational, or not, is more an issue of confidence imo.

oh and me: introvert. for sure.

I'm about split with a slight leaning to the extroverted side. I can't stand being alone for long periods of time, but do occasionally need breaks from people. I also love being the center of attention in large groups, especially in front of complete strangers.

For some reason, I'm always more extroverted around people I don't know and keep to myself around good friends. I think it has something to do with the fact that I won't have to deal with what the strangers think of me later.

Both.

This depends on the situation and how comfortable I feel in it.

I have jokingly referred to myself as both "the world's most outgoing introvert" and "the world's shyest extrovert," and both are fairly accurate descriptions. I get intensely nervous about so much as making a phone call to someone I don't know very, very well; at the same time, I have no problem at all jumping onstage in front of a thousand or so strangers and acting ridiculous. I'll happily tell filthily dirty jokes in mixed company, and then blush like a little girl if compelled to say "naughty words" in other contexts. I love being the center of attention; I hate standing out in a crowd; I love crazy parties; I'd generally rather stay at home alone with a book than go out. I am a walking contradiction, but I'm fairly happy that way. :)

There's a difference between having an introverted or extraverted personality, and the colloquial definition/stereotype of 'introverted = shy and quiet, extraverted = loud and confident.'

I'm introverted, not because of whether I am loud or quiet, shy or confident (I can, and it seems many others here can, be either one depending on the situation), but because I 'energize' if you will most when I am alone, whereas being with others is more like an expenditure of 'energy.' However you take 'energy' to mean. I'm not explaining myself too well since I'm rather hungover, again.

I'm retroverted. When I'm alone I tend to wear headbands and spandex. When I'm with friends I usually tear the roof off of suckas and rock them like hurricanes.

I'm extroverted, sure, but that doesn't mean I don't like alone time every now and then. Alone time is good for guitar practice, that's for sure. I just really really really like going out and doing stuff with people I know and potentially want to know, pretty much regardless of the activity.

The way I am now is how I was before I started home school... That's to say, home school totally killed my social life over a period of nine years. 1998 - 2007 was particularly horrible, and I wouldn't wish home school on anybody who likes having a social life. It's mental (and often physical) torture.

My introversion to extroversion ratio is inversley proportional to the number of people at a social gathering.

Meaning that the more people, the more introverted I am.

Somewhere in between.

In other words, I love people and never shut up, but I also like being alone... and my closest confidante and most determined arguing partner is myself.

Extroverted without a doubt. I have to be honestly considering what I do for a living. Was a mix when I was younger but military service actually changed my personality into an extrovert.
