If a man wants to marry a woman, or a woman wants to marry a man, so be it. I hereby endore this. I'm just going to point that this is California that we're talking about. This is hardly a big story for me; I'm surprised that they haven't made homosexuality compulsory yet. :p (I exaggerate, obviously, but my point stands)

I thought about this when the ruling came out-that many couples who are close but maybe not really ready to 'tie the knot' so to speak may be compelled by the history of the situation to participate in a wedding that is perhaps not the best idea for them.

But then they are together, and it's clear that marriage for them (specifically, not 'them' as a community) was a bad idea. But they stay together because they don't want to be the first gay married couple in California to divorce.

And so it becomes a game of divorce chicken, where there are mismatched pairs of homosexual couples staying together in the hopes that the other couples flinch first.

Well, I was more just light-heartedly commenting on the predominant patterns of the majority of politicians and courts in the state. I'm well aware that large numbers of Californians are strongly opposed to this measure, and they have every right to be, this being a free country that allows everyone the right to their own opinions.

My point is, I'm hardly surprised given the "progressive" patterns of California government. This is barely news worthy in my opinion. (granted I never much cared about gay marriage in the first place)
