Corporal Punishment

Teachers don't hit anymore.
No more cane.
No more strap.
It hurts the child.
Teachers try to help chidren.
I thought of this yesterday
when Oliver, my friend,
said 'I was at MacDonalds'
then Mr Neild said,
'Where else would you be?'
Oliver wasn't skinny, but
he said it in front of
the whole class.
Teachers can't hit anymore
but
they can still hurt.

My Poem I made in English.

it still hurts in hell... sure in the last hundred and fifty years they have phased out the lake of fire for a series of ponds of skalding water, but they still use the burning flails quite extensively.

Hey, Oliver shouldn't have left himself open like that. I mean fat kid saying's he was at Mc. Donald, yea, he was just asking for it there.

I quite like this poem, I hate to be the critic but the middle section doesn't flow for me though:

then Mr Neild said,
'Where else would you be?'
Oliver wasn't skinny, but
he said it in front of
the whole class.

I just feel this isn't as neat as it could be but I wouldn't listen to a word I say to be honest.

Nice poem.

I was going to write a long substantive post detailing why I support the use of corporal punishment over incarceration in the justice system, but the OP really lacks any framework for discussion, so I think I'll just save it for a better thread.

Oh don't wander off just yet. We can fill this one with amusing spam.

I just got 2 coconut halves yesterday filled with icecream and I've been riding an imaginary around ever since.

Corporal punishment doesn't really have anything to do with the justice system, so unless you confused it with capital punishment, which seems likely, that doesn't really make any sense at all.

I did not confuse corporal and capital punishment.

Corporal punishment is the deliberate infliction of pain intended to punish a person or change his/her behavior.

Corporal punishment as a sentence for crimes was phased out in favor of incarceration in the 1800's in most Western nations. As a result, many people now assume corporal punishment to be an issue related only to education and parenting. Indeed, Wikipedia's article relates largely to the use of corporal punishment in an educational setting, either in the home or in school.

I'd rather give a drunk driver a few lashes with a whip than pretend I've solved anything by fining him and "revoking" his license. I think if corporal punishment were reintroduced as a form of criminal punishment, you would see a significant decrease in the number of initial and repeat offenses for any crime to which the punishment were applicable.

It would likely be most effective at reducing white-collar corporate crime.

My mistake, sorry.

The poem is actually quite nice.

I was thinking that too. But I couldn't make it 'flow' without extending the poem into a world of jiberish.

Too bad. Science is always more fun when you have a fat kid to experiment on.

All children should be beaten and electrocuted regularly. It's the only way they'll learn to shut up and study. And that there really are 5 lights.
