Will McCain die in office?

Considering how the Presidency seems to age those in office quicker than normal and the fact McCain is quite old to begin with, if he is elected do you think he will die in office?

probably not.

he'd get the best health care in the world.

no because he would step down after four years and let his VP run

Well in addition to his age, he also has war injuries and a bout with cancer which adds considerable mileage to the chassis.

I'm amazed he survived the campaign. :p

That's kinda mean. You may not like Mc.Cain or the Republican party, but do you really hope that they die?

Not all republicans. Just McCain and the entire Bush family. Other than that, republicans are ok. Besides, don´t take me seriously here, Wil, I´m not even an American.;)

I don't. But I'm a crazy bastard who wants everyone to live, so meh.

As for my predictions: I'd say that if McCain won the election, it is a possibility he might die in office, but not from age. I think he'd have a bit of a risk of assassination from some very pissed off Obama voters. A lot of Obama supporters are very, VERY happy to see a black man running for President for whatever their personal reasons, and they might see McCain as someone who stole that from Obama, and thus let their anger get the better of themselves.

Or not.

No, John McCain will not die in office.

Life Calculator (http://calculator.livingto100.com/calculator)

Using wikipedia and guesswork, I figured he'd make it to 86.

Feel free to make your own calculations.

I don't care if Obama picks Carrot Top as a running mate. McCain will not win so he will not die in office.

For funzies, If he were to win, I think he would at least be able to give the impression that someone is home with a good production team! (like Reagan did) And with computer generated enhacement and such, you could make McCain look like a young Harvard grad that just won the Heisman trophy, even if he does die. :p

This is going to be one of the dumbest forum posts I read this week.

Considering the Secret Service stepped up protection for Obama a long, long time ago, above whatever level McCain gets, I wonder where you get your ideas from.

Or not - yep I could be wrong I could be right who knows?! That's what that little bit means right?

Now of course he could die of a heart attack this September at the G0P convention! Especially if it starts out with Britney Spears doing another Goth/Country thing like she did to open the 2004 convention! Hell, it almost gave me a heart attack and I'm in good shape!

Dude, if they can keep Cheney alive they surely can keep McCain alive. The only way he would is if they're keeping Cheney alive by sacrificing newborn babies (why the Republicans are so against abortion, they need the unwanted baby sacrifices) and sucking their spinal fluids and McCain is unwilling to go that far.

I was tossing out an idea that I personally found rather unlikely, hence the "Or not." Sorry if I hadn't made that clear.

Maybe, but so might anyone. When you consider how many have died in office by natural or unnatural causes though, its probably got the lowest life expectancy of any job in the world.

What a morbid and depressing thread. I'm inclined to call it down-right offensive.

That's not funny.

Anyway, his Republican VP would take over, and I suspect he'll pick a far right nut job to appeal to his base. Romney, perhaps.

I highly doubt it; the last time that a President died outside of the parameters of the Curse of Tippecanoe (that is being elected in 1840, 1860, 1880, et cetera) was in the 1850s

as for McCain, he's been through a lot, and maybe that will hurt him, but he's gotta be one tough SOB to have gone through all the shit he did:sniper:

well it IS obamas election to lose but many democrats have managed to do it.

i believe that the republican party is banking on the idea that the US public is too racist to elect a black man president even if he is running against a tired old man who supports the failed and despised policies of his predecessor.

Probably not. We've had presidents who died at 91 (John Adams) and 92 (Gerald Ford) well after they were in office.
Assuming he made it both terms, he'd be 80, and the average lifespan for American males is about 76 now.

What a silly notion! Like most democrats, Obama supporters are uneducated spineless children... I'm not sure many of them are smart enough to know which end of a gun to hold, much less how to fire it.

unfortunately....

McCain was a propaganda tool while he was a POW when he created propaganda tapes for the NV. He also repeatedly stalled attempts in the Senate on investigations of POWs abandoned in Vietnam after the war.
