If I were to die I would want to die of a disease that took a long time to kill me (to get my affairs in order), was easy to detect, has symptoms that aren't debilitating (so I can do stuff) and had no treatment (if I'm going to die of it anyway then treatment would just be a hassle, unless it lengthened the amount of time I had).

Preferably though, I would rather not die at all.

In the latest 'Rambo' movie, a prisoner is hung by his arms over a pig sty and in the few days between that and the arrival of the good guys(Yes, I said guys. He takes a somewhat more realistic position as the motivator for an otherwise soft group of mercenaries. Putting spines into men is something Green Berets excel at), his feet and lower calves had been nibbled off by the pigs and he had bled to death.

I could do without that. *nod*

I do not want to die while sleeping or in a hospital.

I wouldn't want to die in my sleep. I'm very curious about what death feels like, and so I want to be as conscious as possible when it happens so that I can fully experience it.

A violent death sounds good to me, as long as it doesn't take more than a few hours. Even though the velociraptors freak me out as much as anyone, I think I'd rather be killed by them than in my sleep.

Other things that I wouldn't want to kill me include:

- Mentally debilitating diseases. I don't want to spend my last months drooling and shitting myself.
- Random crime. Even though I don't mind the idea of being killed by another human, it would piss me off to know that my life was prematurely ended by some punk, who is too much of an asshole to be content with the money he makes without resorting to violence.
- Brain aneurysms. Can there be a more fucked-up way to die? At one moment, you're just happily walking around and minding your own busi- *POP* blaarghdead.
- Ants. I suffer from rather severe myrmecophobia, so being eaten alive by ants does not appeal to me.

Same here, I have never understood why people want to pass up such an interesting life experience. The fact that it is your last life experience only makes it seem so much more important...

It is one thing to fear death, as I do, but to fear dieing just seems silly to me.

I would assume the slow part is because of pain, which I guess I can understand (to an extent), if not agree with. However, I don't see why you would care how messy it is.

I do care about how messy it is, I'd like to die with my body in one piece kthxbai. But really, if it's messy (like, blood and guts everywhere) it'll imply I died a rather violent (and thus possibly rather painful) death.

A slow and painless death I wouldn't object to... unless it involved me being in a vegetable state for the last few months of my life. the only way I wouldn't object to it is if I didn't know about it and nobody else had to see me suffer.

Starvation. Dehydration. Drowning. Burning. Getting ran over. Anything excessively painful or slow.

Flesh-eating Bacteria would be preferable than dying in my old room at my mother's house.... Another one being kicked repeatedly in the testies to death. That teabagging one sounds interesting though.

Yes, of course. :) Being impaled on rebars (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rebar) after a fall from the 30th floor was one of the most thrilling. But don't ever try to be drowned in a vat of chicken manure, it stinks, but that dying is enjoyable nonetheless - being converted to methane is cool ;)
