Does earthquake blunt criticism of China at Olympics?

The recent horrific earthquake in China, with a death toll of 70,000 - 80,000 people, seems to have blunted criticism of China's policy in Tibet and their military support of the genocidal government in Sudan.
Are you still critical of the "Genocide Olympics" or does the earthquake disaster earn China a pass on this one?

If they add this, I'll wholeheartedly support them.

Well why do you think the Chinese government started the earthquakes if it wasn't to divert attention. Doesn't anyone else think that the timing was just a bit more than coincidence? And don't anyone roll your eyes at me, it is only a joke.

When the earthquake hit, America had one or two celebrities do a Fred Phelps by saying that the earthquake was punishment for Tibet. Give it a month, then everyone will be yammering about Tibet again.

If earthquake came for bad nation karma, then I guess that much of the world would have been already totally destroyed.
Those celebrities are nothing more than exploiters of human deaths for their own personal ends - and they do not contribute to the Tibetan cause either.

I don't usually have much sympathy for celebs, but when it comes to getting involved in humanitarian or charitable causes they are in a damned-if-you-do-damned-if-you-don't situation. If they get involved in a cause, then they are bubble-headed actors who aren't qualified to speak on important world events and are just trying to improve their careers. If they don't get involved then they are self-centered actors who don't care for anything but their careers.
I don't believe in karma and Sharon Stone went over the line in implying the earthquake was punishment for Tibet and Sudan, but Mia Farrow has done good work in promoting the link between China and the Sudanese government's genocide in Darfur.
China should be criticized for supplying weapons to Sudan and for their oppression of Tibet. I would like to see the world's leader skip the opening ceremonies.
