Moon Landing?

Anyone who thinks it was a hoax needs to have their brain examined.

I know this is old, but I just watched a show 'bout it, and I want to know what other people think. Did the US really put a man on the Moon? Or was it just a large hoax? Did NASA really get their 400,000 employees at the time to not say it was not fake, to this day? That's not including the several hundred people on Rocket Beach who watched the Astronauts climb into the rocket, then the rocket taking off. What do you think?

And I'd appreciate it if you at least TRIED to be polite. Thanx.

P.S. I think it was real.

I also belive it was real. However, the only thing that bothers me is that the flag was moving as though it was being blown by a breeze. Some people have said it had wires in it to make it stand up, but I`m not too sure.

of course it was fake. the thrusters would of melted the cheesy surface upon landing :)

and I must now watch Wallace and Gromit again  (http://youtube.com/watch?v=vPc0sE6V9Z0)

If you look, there's a pole going across horizontally at the top of the flag.

which is why it was "blowing". Its not like that's advanced technology dude. really not that hard.

And plus, America gets the moon. TAKE THAT, YOU DIRTY COMMIES

My dad, who is always suspicious of these things, even acknowledged that yes, the Apollo program was genuine.

I asked him why he knew for sure.

He said it's because at that time, the USA and USSR were fierce rivals. The Soviets watched every moment of that mission. If NASA had faked it, the Soviets would called us out on it instantly.

^this.

If you watch that footage you'll notice the flag only moves when the astronaut is fiddling with it. After he's done, it springs back and forth a bit then holds still.

Besides, if it WERE filmed on a NASA sound stage, where did the wind come from in the first place? :p

Well...yes. That was essentially my point.

I'm waiting for someone to say the moon landings were faked. They're always fairly fun.

This came up on a Penn & Teller: Bullshit once. Some guy saw a C shaped mark on one of the rocks and concluded that it was a prop, and that prop people write Cs on props.

The idea that people would arbitrarily write a letter on props is nearly as stupid as the idea that the moon landing was a hoax.

Box fan, everyone knows there is wind on the moon.

I think the really interesting question is why are so many people so quick to believe it was faked.

Because people are absolutely fucking stupid. By and large.

They talked abut that on the show i watched, and the conspirists say that a prop has a letter on it, and the stage has a corresponding leter to let prop guys know where to put stuff. Anyway, some scientists looked at it, ad they say a its just a hair that got on the film during developement.

what makes you say the moon landing and someone (or something) writing the letter C on a moon rock are completely incompatible!

It was real. My father-in-law worked for NASA at the time and no way could he have kept a secret, he tells everything.

Isn't it because of theres an unbalanced forces?
I mean, if the astronaut was to move it while placing it, there is no air resistance to stop it from moving, and no opposing forces, so it keeps moving until it has used up all its energy?

I think that's right, I'm trying desperately to remember GCSE Physics now :p .... never thought I would need to know about the laws of motion again
