Well living in Melbourne rather then in Sydney is certainly something to chant about!!

(although i did live in Sydney for a year and loved it, but i thought id keep up the Melbourne/Sydney war)

Melbourne isn't that the 'city' that has a dirty brown river running backwards through it? Not to mention it tastes like you use that dirty river to make your beer.

*Shows off proud New South Wales colours*

Yes I am living in Adelaide at the moment maybe I should post what the crow eaters think of you.
I must admit I love going to Melbourne great city

I think it is the later :)

So do I.

How do you pluck a possum?

grab the fur and pull. when warm and newly dead the hair follicules relax and it's easy to pluck them.

it takes about 15 to 20 possums worth of fur to make a Kg of the stuff, once you have several Kg sell the fur to a travelling buyer next time they pass through your area, they sell them to big garment making places when it is blended with wool and turned into yarn.

Possum fur is VERY soft and an extremely good insulator. which means possum blend socks and mittens are high value items. the current buy price of possum fur is over $105NZD a kg, which means every possum is worth $5 or so :D compare that to the 20c per bullet and theres money to be made shooting the critters raiding your fruit trees :D

*snip*

So no need to soak them in water then to make it easier.

Ah, that may be a good business to get into; get rid of pests and make money at the same time. That actually reminds me, I need to tuck into some possum pie at some stage - yum yum.

This (http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=PyNuriXG3BQ) is funny, but this is not the way you should think. Unless you're Valve and obviously following stereotypes :p

I was just wondering, a lot of people (manly Americans) think of Australia as some barren, deserted red land. Or that we all own livestock and wear blue singlets and drink VB on the porch after shaving some sheep.
Theres actually been a few times when i've told people that i own a Kangaroo and they have believed me.

Do you all really see us like that? Or is this passing now that Australia is getting bigger on the Media Map?

Oh yes Austria... nice place...the EURO 2008 is being hosted there isnt it?
