You know those really, really, really, really annoying ads?
The ones on at 1am on pay tv?
The ones that have a girl crying or sitting in a bar, texting a 1900 number to find out if her partner is cheating on her?
Because if you do text Your Name and His Name and the word 'CHEAT' you know you can find out the truth about your lover!?
Bugger getting private detectives, checking emails, goign through draws!!
Theres a new solution!! Pay $20 bucks and recieve 10 messages per week telling you new and improved ways to find a partner or meet a friend. Better yet! If you sign up now youll recieve crappy adverts and shitty ringtones you didnt ask for!
Is anyone actually stupid enough to do this? Has anyone done this? If so...why!??

And on the subject of stupid late night commericals, is it just me or do we pay for 'paytv' so we dont have to put up with crappy ads and stupid 'If you buy one get a set of knives!'

Why are there so many of these advertisements these days!? And who is stupid enough to call these numbers and pay the money to keep the companys who make these things running?

If we all werent as stupid as they think we are and we didnt text 'cheat' or 'love' to 1900. They would make no profit and we would have no ads.

So why does it keep happening?! It makes me mad and want to throw things.

I was pleasantly surprised when a homosexual chatline was advertised. Equality is getting there.

Low running costs and drunken people thinking that many a stupid thing might actually be a cool idea. That or the desperate. Aren't these things also a 'subscription service' so unless you text back after saying "Thank you very much, that will be all now". They continue to charge you each week for the service and hope you forget what you have to do to unsubscribe.

Not only that, but soemtimes the 'unsubscribe text' doesnt work. Eg. Text 'STOP' to this number to discontinue service but you still recieve message from them you dont want, then you have to call a toll number to cancel it and talk to a real human being therefore wasiting more money!
Its a rip off.

Because i work part time. and some of those nights are weeknights when im home and have nothing to do. So tv, is the natural first option.
