I'm hoping for radio shows in English that I can find on the Internet but any show that is transmitted by waves between 30 kHz and 300 MHz that are not television will do.

Here are mine:
Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me! (http://www.npr.org/programs/waitwait/)
Just a Minute (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/comedy/justaminute.shtml)
Not really a show, but still cool (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=17914370)

I dig Wait, Wait. There's another one kind of like it on weekends on NPR but I can't think of the name. I also like Prairie Home Companion despite not being old and Minnesotan. There's also some oral essay/story show they do, I think "American" is in the title, Sarah Vowell does it some-"This American Life" (http://www.thislife.org/?gclid=CJbnppj62JMCFRTbQAod_E-VZQ) That's it.

But I tend to like Old School-
The Shadow, X Minus One, Dimension X, Escape, Arch Obler's Lights Out, etc.

American Life is very good. My favorite is the David Sedaris monologue about working as an elf at the Macy's Christmas display, the Santaland Diaries (http://www.npr.org/programs/specials/lists/sedaris/).

In Our Time (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/history/inourtime/).

"Melvyn Bragg and guests investigate the history of ideas."

Fantastic program in which top boffins in their respective fields discuss everything from Marx to quantum mechanics, from the Reformation to the history of zero. All the while, Melvin Bragg helps keep the discussion understandable.

Wonderful stuff.

Immensely funny jokes and stories in between songs. Plus, lots of classic rock from all around the globe from the 1970's to the present day.

I never heard of this show until I read your post, even though the BBC Radio is my homepage. I'm listening to the end of an episode about probability, and you're right, it's great.

And it's consistently high quality. I often listen to an episode just before I go to sleep, instead of reading a book.

Plus, the archives for the show are pretty good, IIRC.

Freedomain Radio (http://www.freedomainradio.com)

This is the only internet radio/podcast show I listen to; I've been listening to it for over a year. I am so glad I found it. If you are interested in philosophy, politics, or psychology I suggest checking it out. ;)
