Collector Cars

So I am sitting here at work, and bored. Therefore I am looking at pictures of older cars. That got me wondering about what collector car(s) the good people of NSG would want, or may even have. For me, I've always wanted a 1931 Ford Roadster. I love the sound of the name, and the car looks so sharp to me.

So the question is given to you all. What would you have, or do you have?
I would that my term of "collector's car" would be a top of the line vehicle from the decade of the 1970s and before.

Try to provide a link to a picture if possible.

Zilam, you and I think alike!

I like the last picture in your OP, of the tan Ford Model A roadster.

I really want one of those!

I also wouldn't mind having one of these:

I for one would like these two, classics from behind the Iron Curtain:

The list of collector cars I would want would be so long it might rival the american election thread. I tend to prefer older cars. However, near the top of the list is this entry from Nadkor-

Mercedes-Benz 300SL.

http://www.kabeleins.de/auto/galerien/artikel/k1_info_auto_de_kultautos4-mercedes-300sl/01.jpg
All class.

My internet is moving too slow to bother with pictures, and since only a small number of you would know the cars I list without them I'll save it for later if the thread is still around.

I do own a 1967 Split Window VW Bus, a 'Westie' or camper. Incidentally, it's being pulled out of storage for a flurry of repairs in preperation of being put back into daily service as my '85 VW Vanagon developed a very expensive problem. It was decided that the money spent would be better spent on a single vehicle instead of splitting my meager resources on two. So I'll be back in the saddle of my beloved Veronica soon.

Previously I owned a 1973 Porsche 914. LOVED it despite it having more than just a leg in the grave.

I saw one something like the above, but it wasn't an open top. And I think the windshield leaned forward....it was odd anyway. Mind you I can't drive....and until I saw flash American cars never really felt the urge.....

Dynacorn and Year One make replacement steel body shells for the '67-'69 Camaro (both the coupe and convertible). I know it wouldn't be a TRUE Camaro, but I bet it'd be impossible for all but the experts to tell the difference. The only thing is, they're expensive (Year One's body costs $12,495 + $495 crate cost, while Dynacorn's example costs $13,500 + $495 crate cost).

It's a 5.7 liter LT-1 engine, not a 6.7 liter engine. And it goes. My brother in law owns one, and he can quite easily light the tires (in fact, he did exactly that at my uncle's wedding reception). It also has enough power to push you into the seat when it accelerates. The only reason he wants to sell his is because he and my sister have 4 kids now, and 6 people (3 of which need car/booster seats) can't fit comfortably in one, coupled with the fact that it only has 5 seatbelts.

6.7 or 5.7 that's still a fuck load of displacement for just 260bhp. i'm sure it has plenty of torque but there's some serious work that could be done to improve the efficiency of that engine.

There's serious work that could go into almost every factory stock car to improve the efficiency of the engine (I'm assuming by efficiency, you mean horsepower per liter).

And where exactly did Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bugatti, and Aston Martin come from? Oh that's right. They're all European companies. All of them have or had V12 engines (the Bugatti EB-110 had a V12 but is no longer in production, and the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 has a 16 cylinder engine and 4 superchargers).

It seems that Europeans shouldn't judge Americans and their cars, lest they be judged.

I hadn't noticed, but it does look that way, doesn't it? Mostly it's just a function of the era of cars I like, they all kinda did things that way. But it may well be an unconscious preference.

Since I'm posting again anyway, I list some of the 'never would be able to afford it but would be awesome' cars
