Wife cheats on her husband with a fence...

Cabra West

... but then again, there's not that much left of her husband. He is (or rather, was) the Berlin Wall.

Woman 'married' to Berlin Wall for 29 years

Eija-Riitta Berliner-Mauer, 54, whose surname means Berlin Wall in German, wed the concrete structure in 1979 after being diagnosed with a condition called Objectum-Sexuality.

Mrs Berliner-Mauer, whose fetish is said to have its roots in childhood, claimed she fell in love with the structure when she first saw it on television when she was seven.

She began collecting "his" pictures and saving up for visits. On her sixth trip in 1979 they tied the knot before a handful of guests. ...

... So when Germany was reunited, she became a widow.

I wonder if she keeps his remains nearby?

and how the hell can she have a full loving relationship with the Berlin wall if she stayed in Sweden?

I hope the fence relationship works better for her and doesn't end up restricting her options.

... So when Germany was reunited, she became a widow?

I wonder if she keeps his remains nearby?

While the rest of mankind rejoiced when the Wall, erected by the Soviets in 1961 to halt an exodus from East to West Berlin, was largely torn down in 1989, its "wife" was horrified.

She's never been back and now keeps models depicting "his" former glory.

She said: “What they did was awful. They mutilated my husband."

She's not fully a widow, some parts are stil lstanding. And sections of the Wall were sold off and are now scattered all over the world. I imagine this might make a relationship rather difficult.

Who says the Berlin Wall is a 'he'? I'm in love with 'her' and I want to marry 'her'! :D

she did... in the article.

Mrs Berliner-Mauer, who lives in Liden, northern Sweden, said: "I find long, slim things with horizontal lines very sexy.

"The Great Wall of China's attractive, but he’s too thick – my husband is sexier."

***

She said: “What they did was awful. They mutilated my husband."

and so does the article.

She began collecting "his" pictures and saving up for visits. On her sixth trip in 1979 they tied the knot before a handful of guests.

I'm glad she got over "his" death and is going out again... even if it's only around the house/block.

Yes, that is true, but she married the Berlin "Wall" his remains have been cut up and shipped all over the world. So can it be considered a "wall" at that point? If a person donates his body to science does this mean that his/her spouse is still considered 'married' to that person?

I would say no.

"the berlin wall"

"oh, well i hope you will be very happy together. i guess it will be a foreign wedding then, eh?"

Now for a long term mate, how about a sound barrier? They tend to be thin, neighbors love them. Just don't get on their bad side.

It's just about as interesting as it is sad and comical...

I'm just curious as to how many people have actually went to her website and starting reading it, really reading it. I just love the part about "artifacts rights".

It's too bad that the sheer insanity of it all is adds a tinge of sadness to the laughter.

However, what I would like is to see an MRI/EEG map of her brain. She could probably provide some critical insight into the human psyche.

What's really strange is that just the other day I thought I hit a threshold on the level of weirdness in the world when I stumbled upon http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apotemnophilia, if I keep going at this rate I think my head is going to asplode.

Edit: Also this...

If one can see objects as living things, it is also pretty close to be able to fall in love with them. After all, there are many different sexualities -- if you care to look around. To have make love with a thing isn't any more difficult than having sex it with a man or woman. To be objectúm-sexual and having sex with an object, is NOT the same thing as masturbation, because in masturbation one doesn't see the object as LIVING, one does often dream about a person or something. In objectúm-sexuality one has sex with the object because one loves the object itself. That is a big difference.

...really makes me wonder how far she has actually gone with the wall, I mean, she does say that it's not that difficult and you have to wonder HOW she knows this. That raises even more questions though, like how exactly one would go about having sex with a wall...

I'm inclined to agree, to an extent. Personally, I'm more curious than anything else. Granted, I let out a few giggles, but the sheer strangeness of it is more interesting than it is funny.

I reserve the right to make light of anything and everything. And if people can't take a few jokes at their expense then they're just wound up too tight. Back in 2000, there was an on-line community that was quite popular here. It had forums where I was a moderator and so was this woman. She was a very nice person and had a very commendable integrity; I laud her for it and for not being ashamed of who she is.

The only persons I think should be ashamed of themselves are those who try to sensationalise her, depict her as a freak or laugh at her. You attempt to do so with a woman who is far better and more dignified than you.
If this woman's husband hadn't been so divisive people might be less inclined to tear her down.

Obviously being mentally ill isn't right, hence being "ill".

Concerning the quote why this lady likes the wall because its long thick and hard:

There's another thing like that, miss, that normal women like: It's called a penis.

She must have misheard her sex-ed teacher or something.

never met a wall with a penis. a statue yes, not a wall.

of course, the Berlin Wall was one huge display of dick waving... but I don't think that counts.

... but then again, there's not that much left of her husband. He is (or rather, was) the Berlin Wall.

I feel I ought to be understanding and all... but I couldn't help laughing when I first heard about this.

She is who she is and I respect that. Now if this interfered with her ability to function on a day to day basis, then some ofthe harsher comments may have been justified (I get riled up when people start making fun of people with mental illnesses, unless they're obvious trolls, as I have Asperger's)
