Do you enjoy arguing? Do you believe that, if everyone had the same views, the world would be a boring place or you think that everyone should have the same "correct" view of the world(preferably yours:p)

I can argue if i want to, but usually better when i'm in a good mood, angry arguing gets me nowhere.
Then again it is an interesting stress reliver.

Yes. I love it. Good arguments are one of the things I enjoy most.

I enjoy it most when I can argue with both sides.

Edit: I think it would be good if everyone believed correct things for the right reasons, but I'm not convinced that those "things" would be the same.

Most arguments are pointless because

a) few people will admit that they're wrong, even when they obviously are, and

b) in most cases, people base their beliefs on instinct, on unthinking and ill-informed emotional responses, rather than on reason, which makes it impossible to reason with them.

The combination of those two factors makes most arguments frustrating and pointless rather than informative.

Most, but not all. Occasionally, I come across someone whose views are different from my own, but who's intelligent, (mostly) rational, and well-informed. Such encounters enable me to question what I think, to examine new perspectives, and thus enrich my mind. They're all too rare, alas.

Besides, disagreements are not always an issue of right and wrong. They can be an issue of ethical values and priorities.

I'm not usually one to toss quotes around, but I do like this one, from Mencken:

"No democratic delusion is more fatuous than that which holds that all men are capable of reason, and hence susceptible to conversion by evidence."

I love it. I love to argue for kicks, to seem smart and stylish in the forum, to make my likely-famous-by-now moves, I do it to show myself.

I'm a gladiator of sorts, I argue to the others, not to my opponent!

It depends on the type of argument you're meaning. Many times it seems people are just shouting at each and repeating the same thing thinking the other person will magically accept it.

However, when its constructive and mutually respective, then it is interesting for both parties and listeners.

I don't argue much as I don't know enough on many subjects to argue about them and am not the most confrontational of people.

No it can't! An argument is an intellectual process. Contradiction is just the automatic gainsaying of any statement the other person makes.

I enjoy arguments where the opponent puts forth a tangled mess riddled with flaws, idiocies generalizations and flat-out lies, since it's always entertaining watching the psychology involved. Paradoxically, I hate arguing with such people, since after a while it's like beating a dead horse - a horse that refuses to stay dead, no matter how much it decomposes and no matter how much it stinks up the place.

I find that the more intelligent of arguments, I disagree with less, and so any argument is usually quibbles over minor points. Which tends to be less entertaining, though it's more of a brain (as opposed to stomach) exercise.

I don't like to argue, argueing is mean nasty and crude. I like to debate, where one person can present thier point(s)/belief(s) in a constructive and mature manner and the other can reply/rebuff in a mature manner.

Yeah, you're right about this. That's what I like in NSG. I feel that too.
It's also an excellent exercise for my English. But(can I start a sentence with but?), even if I'm not gaining anything out of this, or not improving on anything, it's still fun:) and even the illusion that I do, is helpful:D

These types of arguments can be quite funny initially, but I always find myself giving up in irritated frustration at the sort of person who is incapable of doing anything other than simply restate their position.

I find that the more intelligent of arguments, I disagree with less, and so any argument is usually quibbles over minor points. Which tends to be less entertaining, though it's more of a brain (as opposed to stomach) exercise.

The best arguments of all are the ones with intelligent and articulate people with who I completely disagree with. It can get heated and it's quite possible that neither of us will have changed our minds at the end of it but we will both have been forced to really think about, and support, our positions.

Sadly, these types of arguments are also as rare as a really very rare thing.

Civil discussions, where people talk in a civil manner while having reasonable amount of logical capability and reliable sources, are not the same as arguments. "I am just right cuz' I said so" repeated over and over just isn't enough for me to respond in an educated manner.

So it should be no surprise that I like arguments only if I win. To be honest if I am piss off enough to get into an argument, all I would care about is hurting their feelings. I tend to leave intellectual points out entirely and stick to good old fashion personal attacks, repetitive bombardments, and sheer volumes. Besides a good old "you are just stupid" seems to put people on the defensive much easier than a fact; something that tends to get completely ignored by an angry person.

No, I don't like to argue. I like to have dialog and explore a topic. To me this is more fun and interesting than when two people hold on to their positions and won't let go or even try to consider the other POV.

Come on you have to have a cheesy face, your comments always stink as bad as Stilton cheese.
Exactly. You have to resort to using some fungus to get your mirror talking, my one is doing so all by itself.
