Goals

OK so i'm one of those sad people who makes lists of goals to achieve by a certain point in the future whether it be by the end of the year or the time i'm 30. There are plenty of stupid little things that are easily achievable in the mix to help keep my spirits up if things slow down for any reason.

This year I managed to cycle 500 miles in one continuous trip and next year i'm planning to extend this and cycle from John o' Groats to Lands end. I've also jumped from helicopters and hot air balloons to spice things up a bit. My other goals for the future include relatively simple things like swimming across the River Tay, attempting to get on a TV talent show (either due to genuine talent or simple idiocy) and streaking through town.

So my question to you NSG-ers is this. Do you have a similar list and if so what's on it and how successful have you been in the past?

I wanna get straight A's next semester. I've never gotten straight A's before but I didn't get any Cs, Ds, or Fs last semester.

Oh yeah, and I also want to Swim the english channel at some point. So far i have only swum accross a really big lake.

Yup swimming the Channel is one of the harder tasks on my list. It's there as more of an ultimate goal rather than one I truly expect to complete.

4. To get a thread over 1500 posts before it gets shut down by the mods.

I think i'll stick to easy tasks like cycling round the world or something :p

I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike...:D

I have only four goals:

1. To become a independent, professional game designer.

2. To not die a virgin

3. For said company to be successful.

4. To get a thread over 1500 posts before it gets shut down by the mods.

I want to ...

Lose a lot of weight (I won't trouble you with the amount)
Do Sun Salutation without falling on my behind
Get a part time job
Learn to ski
Visit Plankinton, SD (where my mother grew up)
Drive to Mountain Home, ID (where my daughter is stationed)
Take gourmet cooking classes
Learn to quilt
Learn to weave
Take a calculus class and keep at it until I finally understand the stuff
Learn to fly
Write a book
Learn Judo

Actually, this is pretty useful, it helps me see retirement not as an end but an opportunity.

Oxymoron much? :p

jk

My goals are to survive until such a time when I don't feel in necessary anymore. Preferably having a decent level of fun along the way.

EDIT: and to complete a phd.

The bolded parts are on my list too. Cooking is one of the major ones which need attending to as my skill at the moment basically revolves around beans on toast and bacon sandwiches. People make it look so easy though. I'll get it somehow though

I'm actually fulfilling all my goals. It feels great to see that my hardworking is paying off.

My main goals were/are:

1. Become a doctor. <- 2 more years and I'll be graduated. About 5 more if you count the specialization which I still don't know what it's gonna be.

2. To become a independent. <- That wont take longer after I graduate.

3. Enjoy my life while I can. <- It's the third one because without the first two it'd be impossible.

4. Financial stability <- Hopefully after I graduate I'll achieve that.

That are others goals but these are the ones that I really needed to achieve.

I don't really make lists more just imagine where I want to be and continue living in this fantasy world, still in order of how they pop up and not in value:

1) have one of those happy family's to kill this broody feeling I keep having

2) get a good paying job that I enjoy doing

3) learn to play my Ukulele good

4) learn another language

5) be at least middle class

I don't know all my dreams seem to end in tatters however, it all seems to work out in the end

Oh yeah, and I also want to Swim the english channel at some point. So far i have only swum accross a really big lake.

why not just shag 15 dodgy birds without a Johnny? judging by current the results should be much the same :)

Get a part time job

only part-time? how do you eat!?

Wait...I've played too much Civ haven't I?

impossible.

You know, if you never set any goals for yourself, you'll never be disappointed.

I'd like to try to have less stuff. I'm having a garage sale soon, so that should help.

I'd like to be a billionaire someday, with a collection of at least 100 cars. The first million is the hardest, apparently.

To pass school, so that I can get to working on my missionary stuff. My big goal is to bring peace, baby. ;)
