I was in a pretty rank mood this morning when my friend came by to check on me. She listened to my incessant bitching about the air conditioner man and told me she brought me a surprise....
You know what it was? A paperback book! Yay!
Nothing excites me more than reading grocery store paperbacks, the cheesier the better.
From the back of the book
For Nick Cheney and his wife, their new home, a Hollywood mansion, seemed ideal, despite the extensive renovation needed. But when they uncover a cryptic message left by a movie star long dead, and the movie star takes over Nick's wifes body, the result for Nick is adultry... with his own wife!
ZOMG! *dies*
My friend is so cool. I can't believe she brought me this $1.25 brick of cheese!
What in your life is a guaranteed mood lifter? What simple thing can take a nothing day, and suddenly make it all seem worthwhile?
**also, anyone else love cheesy novels?

I know! I'm like "what the hell are they going to talk about for 200 pages?!" I love it!
Does skydiving count as a simple pleasure?
eh.. it's not complicated... I mean more like an everyday thing though.

Cooking. Especially if I thought of a new recipe and it turns out great.
Or watching a new (as in, not repeat!) interesting documentary on Channel 4 or History.
Well, and sex of course. The kinkier, the better.

Sex, the simplest of pleasures.
Oh, and good conversation.
Jesus usually does it for me. Or playing some Final Fantasy. Or running. Or Basketball. Or going out into wild for hours on end. Yep.:)

Hmm, for me it's conversation with people I know, and actually want to talk to, watching Let's Plays, Monty Python skits, winning at You Have to Burn the Rope... Listening to the title theme of Terranigma. Or at least the start of it. Thinking about my long-term plans (and knowing that I actually have them). And maybe eating, but I usually don't eat unless it's breakfast/lunch/dinner since I'm too busy working for class projects.

I usually get my happy by making people laugh (obviously I'm never upset on NS har! ho!) or bursting into song/dance to some tunes (http://youtube.com/watch?v=neKXc7pw4go)
Depends. Window shopping will do it sometimes. So will spaghetti ice cream. Also drawing something that ends up looking just like I wanted.
Well, and sex of course. The kinkier, the better.

Doughnuts. Specifically fritters, with coffee.
Or a good cigar.
I like cheesy horror movies. Give me a giant creature or a rogue body part and I'm happier than a puppy with two peckers.

my mood lifters...
soaking my feet in my foot massager.
having someone run their fingers though my hair
a long soak in a hot tub
painting my figurines
Watching my crayfish (their antics have yet to fail to cheer me up.)
a visit to the petstore
playing Unreal Tornament on my PS2 (for days when I really want to see someone blow up.)
and yes, I like cheesy (fantasy/sci-fi) novels.
Bwah? It's ice cream. Only it looks nigh exactly like spaghetti. :D

Maybe only a German thing, actually. Haven't gone looking for it while outside of the Federal Republic.

It would be a compliment. I hate complexity.

Ugh, I had some Hershey's last week, grainy, sugary and generally unpalatable. Awful stuff.

Three simple things make my day better.
1. Isolation from humanity. I like being alone, and away from other humans. Animals I like, humans, less so. No I don't have many friends, why do you ask?:D
2. Writing. Writing little bits of fiction to my to-be-finished-in-four-years game, complete with history and such brightens my day. Even if I get absolutly nowhere:p
3.NSG. Yes, yes, Sunday school answer, but the collection of clowns, nerds(Such as myself), and other assorted wackos cheer me up.

Right now? The singing tree and the talking tree on campus. They are metal tree sculptures in the woods on campus - one plays a selection of folk music, and the other reads Navajo poetry and random people talking. They're just nice to walk past late at night.
Also the 'Seven Vices and Seven Virtues'. Neon signs around the physics testing rig with the seven sins and that. They flicker on and off in sequence. Very pretty coming back at night.
