Here is the Super Station Master hard at work. She has single handedly increased revenue for this train company. A dog could never do that.

Thank you for cutting that one short. It's even dumber and more irritating than the "in soviet russia" crap.

Edit: not quite as bad as the chuck norris crap though.

It is. It's about a cat. I don't see what the issue is.

And if you're wondering, Tama is a very common cat name in Japan.

sorry, but Hachiko didn't increase the revenue of the station nor did it apparently save the station from financial ruin.

Of course, Hachiko was remembered for his loyalty and became a national icon. so I don't think Hachiko would be sad about his lack of fiscal contribution to the station. :p

however, I think Hachiko might mind this...

From Wiki.
Pre-production work has started[4] on Hachiko: A Dog's Story,[5] an American movie starring actor Richard Gere, directed by Lasse Hallström, about Hachikō and his relationship with the professor. The movie is being filmed in Rhode Island, and will also feature actress Joan Allen, who appeared in "The Bourne Ultimatum" and "The Bourne Supremacy".[6] The movie is expected to release in 2008.

i salute you. i never thought of how to put a thread about that on here. i stumbled accross reference and pictures a while back, anyway tnx, i live in a country that i WISH thought as highly of trains as tama's.

back in the 40s and 50s, the C&O did have chessie, but american railroading has never been really focused primarily on serving the needs of passengers.

i am more then you can imagine happy to see such an unfolding take place. i think where i found the reference was by way of necosi, something like that i forget, i'll have to look it up, dot org. that big japanese railfan picture site and blog.

i shudder to think what american provda's take on it must be all about though.

trains and cats both have a spiritual place in my heart.

Their April Fool's prank was to post a news story about Hachiko having been stolen by metal thieves. It was pretty detailed and even included a shot of the base for the statue where Hachiko wasn't.

I ALMOST got taken in until I read how France was preparing to send a replacement statue as a gift, but were going to have to make Hachiko a poodle.

Little know fact the books have to pay royalties to the station. the station in fact became so rich they bailed out the nation of Japan in the 1990's.

the movies are expected to make the station so rich that it will be be able to afford gold plating on the floors.
