McCain Rejects Preachers' Endorsements (http://news.aol.com/elections/story/_a/mccain-rejects-preachers-endorsements/20080522162009990001)
After months of hearing about Jeremiah Wright This and Jeremiah Wright That, McCain just now noticed the volatility of his two religious endorsements, including his own "spiritual guide" Rod "Kill Teh Ebil Mozlemz" Parsley.
So much for trying to earn the Religious Right Vote huh?

Apparently, it's not the time to court the Evil vote.

A radical new step for the Republican party. Hope it pays off for them. They're going to have to get rid of Cheney though.

Not that it matters, but why is the bi line to this Union City, CA? That's a suburb of a suburb of a suburb in the East Bay (of the San Francisco Bay Area). I lived there for a while, there ain't nothin'. It's just a place to put houses.
You know, if there wasn't a chocolate bar of nutty before he sought Hagee's endorsement, this might actually be something.

Last I heard, McCain had repudiated Hagee but not Parsley. My favorite part of the little melodrama was that as soon as he heard that McCain had rejected his endorsement, Hagee issued a statement saying that he had, in fact, withdrawn his endorsement. Kind of an "I'm not fired, I quit!" moment.
EDIT: looks like he did finally reject Parsley. Might help if I read the whole thing next time.

I hope that Obama supporters, after the Wright burn, can rise above sticking it to McCain on this. They will just look ridiculous if they do.
Obama needs to just beat McCain on the issues, which I am confident he can do.
Nevertheless, I worry that the Evil vote will turn out in force in November.

Already has. Nice guy.
"John McCain has to deal with Hagee, who said something that is mind-boggling. I don't attribute those statements to John McCain. Nobody thinks McCain believes that stuff," Obama said.
Another quote from the article caught my eye though:
I condemn remarks that are, in any way, viewed as anti-anything."
McCain: In favour of everything?

He was in Stockton today or yesterday, if I remember right (is that nearby?). I got an e-mail about it, but I don't wander that far north. :p

And I, for one, am glad. The last American politics needs is a wrinkly flabby septuagenarian bottom flopping about the place. Is this a sign of senile dementia already?
Now we just hope that he's also remembered to wipe.
its nice to know mccain has his own 'reverend right's. which i didn't until now because i hadn't been paying much attention lately to that side of it.
its interesting to the obama's example has set the tone (so far anyway, and i hope it continues to). of not wanting to appear "anti" anything.
this may prove a bit of a challange to the anti-gay and anti-immigration crowd.
my feeling about the good rev, rev right that is, is that, at least what i heard of what the big hoohoo was supposedly all about, i don't think anything of what he said that i heard, was anything other then what anyone who reads between the lyins, can perfectly well see, and put two and two togather themselves.
i think everyone with more then half a brain already had, long before the good reverand said it.
i'm not interested in how good, bad or indefferent a person any of the candidates are, outside of how their likely to run the office once elected, but more about how they actually will. my level of confidence ranks them in decending order obama first, hillary second, and mccain third.
i'm hoping, whoever does win, that all the votes of all the real people are actually counted, and that all the people who do vote, exercise good sense when they do.
my judgement is not infallable, and other people, obviously may, and at least a few probably do, know a good deal more i would consider pretinent, then i do.
so it is nice to know that there is some semblence of balance out there in the real world, even if we've had people in power for a while now, who seem to have been so completely out of touch with it.

See, I care less about this because I think it's not all that important. I don't care about Wright, Parsley, Hagee, or any other moron that pops off at the mouth. My only concern is the hypocrisy angle. If Republicans are going to pounds Obama on the Wright thing, then it must be pointed out that they have nuts too. It's just what needs to be done because many American voters actually pay closer attention to this shit than real issues. Real issues like when McCain was on the Ellen Degeneres show yesterday. Gay (human) rights are incredibly important to a large segment of the population. This is a wedge issue that should not be. It should be an issue where we can have a meaningful dialoge on the matter. I do think your post was funny though.
