Where do I go

I will explain the situation:

I'm in need of planning a holiday as its one of those incredibly tacky last holidays (before a few mates go and steal Australian jabs/benefitz) and naturally we are in need of a place to visit which is why I'm making this thread.

Now a holiday house in Turkey is available but that has all the sense of adventure you get from warm milk and thats really thats the price range I'm looking for and that is the task at hand, should you choose to accept this mission post a reply with a suggestion/ruthless slander:)

So an action packed adventure holiday is what you want ?

Mountain biking, rock climbing and para sailing in the Chech Republic, i did that 3 years ago, it was an absolute blast, my mates and me still speak fondly of our time there.

Why not!!
Croatia is very nice (and still cheap and underdeveloped) - probably wouldn't touch some of the other Balkan states though. You can take a day trip to Venice from the Istrian cost for about £40 return on the hydrofoil. Beer is good, nightlife a bit limited and you will certainly eat well. Another advantage is that it's only 2 hours from the UK

Ever have a desire to ski while wearing shorts and a t-shirt? You can get that if you go to Lake Louise or anywhere in the Canadian Rockies in Alberta - during the summer of course. :)

There are no women in Albania - they sublimate their carnal desires into a fondness for Norman Wisdom.

1 - I know but you can easily find cheap flights and I know hostels and dorms are a good place to stay if you want to save. :) I figured it might be a good suggestion.

2 - no one will ever know. (except those mods! They know everything... >.> They're like big brother on steroids.)

Drinking age in Ontario is 19, in Quebec it's 18, though you need to be 18 to gamble in Ontario and 19 to gamble in Quebec. Hence the rite of passage when you turned 18 in Ottawa, going across the river to get plastered on your 18th birthday.

Newfoundland use to be 21, but it's lower now.

Toronto is pretty fun; we've got Canada's Wonderland and other touristy things, and yes, even trees! ;)

No, they'll just find you amusing. Montreal is a good place for English speakers and Quebec City will have wall to wall people due to it being the 400th anniversary of the founding of Quebec (New France) by Samuel de Champlain.

Vieux Ville de Quebec (Old Quebec City) looks like a miniature Paris.

Yeah, just don't bother with Zagreb - stick to the coast.

Budapest is good - plenty to do to keep you busy for 4-5 days. Bratislava is another good one, and they have the best ice cream in Eastern Europe. Or try Brasov (in Romania) - stayed at a hostel there that organised trips to Dracula's castle (which is shit), and bear-watching outings in the slums. Well, not slums. The Romanian equivalent of council estates. Plus they have a Hollywood-esque sign in the hill above the town (it says, perhaps unsurprisingly, 'BRASOV'). And it's great fun walking down the hill. Especially if your shoes have no grip...:(

I don't think listing the negatives is the right idea :p

still apart from M&S, shows and the rather touch before go nightlife it doesn't actually have allot going for it as a place you want to spend fond memories, rather its where I go shopping as opposed to say Brighton

Agreed, however, I suspect London doesn't really provide any sense of adventure. Unless CTP intends to make a grand tour of the less salubrious estates on foot.

Seriously, I know a lot of people would be like 'omfg why would you want to go on holiday to West Africa?' But it's a wonderful country and I have a lot of great friends there. Nothing is more fun that getting a REALLY bad trotro driver to take you up to Mole National Park, and from talking to other Westerners who were there, Tamale up north is just as nice as where I live, Hohoe (or, since someone in the language thread made fun of me romanising Eʋegbe as Ewe, Ɣɔɣɔɛ).

walk to kathmandu and from there to either darjeeling or simla, and ride the narrow gauge railways from either place back down to india somewhere you can catch a flight home from.

the main thing from what the op descripes, would be a long walkabout.

speaking of which, its, i think, still possible to participate in the longest walk mark two, of the indiginous peoples of the world, accross america, to deliver petitions and policy plans to the governement in village burner maryland, otherwise known as washington d.c.

of course another possibility in the us, is an outfit out of san francisco called the green tourtus, which opperates tours with intercity bussess converted to communal campers. i think that's something anyone who gets a chance might want to try at least once in their life.
