Favorite Cartoon Moments?

Lets talk about our favorite cartoons, especially our favorite moments/episodes and see if you can find at least a partial video clip.

I got a couple right now, the first one is probably the funniest Disney short ever made

The Feuher's Face (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZiRiIpZVF4)

And my favorite moment from the Grim Adventure's of Billy and Mandie. The show never used to be funny but it seems like something changed..

Raggle fraggle! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2oFWqG0Uj4)

And... Animaniacs: Who's on stage? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39xNlnmNLf4)

There's a single scene in a Tom & Jerry cartoon, during their better, more sadistic phase, where Tom is bearing down on Jerry riding a model train - Jerry is tied to the rails.

The face they manage to create on Tom, it's just pure, gleeful evil that manages to be extraordinarily funny at the same time, it's almost magical how they've captured it.

Some of Tom & Jerry was genius.

I'm going to have to go with Tom and Jerry as well, albeit a different scene. It's one of the episodes in which Jerry has made friends with Spike and rings bells for service, only to have they city enact a leash law after he declared martial law over Tom. Tom goes out to the doghouse, measures the leash while clucking disapprovingly, then makes a mark on the ground 'just out of reach.' He then kicks Spike, who rushes to the end of the leash and starts barking and gnashing inches away from Tom's face. Tom sprays him with seltzer water, hits him with a pie and then -- the pièce de résistance -- uses Spike's mouth as a lathe to craft a baseball bat out of a stump and crowns him with it. Pure slapstick genius!

I love Billy and Mandy.

Mandy: Your mother has a job and is a respected member of the community.
Sperg: No one talks about my mother that way!

Also, Fairly Odd Parents:
"We" can mean so many things! We three, we the people, or my favorite, WEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Yeah, Duck Amuck is pretty much the single greatest cartoon ever.

They did a similar one where Elmer Fudd was doing the same kind of thing to Bugs, but it wasn't quite as funny.

I have a few favorite cartoon moments, but I don't feel like going into detail of them all.

This one part of an episode of Ed Edd n Eddy, Eddy and Edd are arguing over Eddy inflicting pain on themselves in order for him to get attention from the other kids, and soon Eddy makes fun of Edd calling him a chicken for being to afraid to hit him. Out of nowhere, Ed, the stupid one, is holding a house over Eddy and drops it on him. After the dust settles Ed is leaning on a wall of the house and Edd asks him, "Ed, what on Earth are you thinking?"

Ed replies, "Absolutely nothing Double D."

The way he looks, and the way he says that made me laugh so hard when I saw that.

Then there are completely stupid moments, such as this old cartoon about Mario I remember, but I can vividly remember a time where Luigi became lazy eyed, the animators did a very bad job drawing him... Damn it made me laugh so hard though....

Okay, technically this is a scene in a Disney movie, but it's, IMO, one of the best scenes in one of the best Disney movies ever made. It's the Hellfire scene in Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and it's just so dark with so many sensual undertones, yet it's done so tastefully that small children think, "Mommy, the ugly guy in the funny dress wants to kill Esmaralda!!" as opposed to older people who know better and think, "Whoa, this is a DISNEY movie?"

Hellfire (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRO-M4XyAbM)

Also, not as intelluctual, but still fun, my favourite Spongebob moment, the Krusty Krab Pizza song.

Avatar: the Last Airbender (Avatar: the Legend of Ang for some non-US audiences). Pretty much the whole thing, but the episode Zuko alone was great. A text book western set in the Avatar universe.

I also liked the completely deadpan exchange in the two most recent eps . . .

Saka: "My first girlfriend turned into the moon."

Zuko: "That's rough buddy."

Oh, and season two's tribute to late 80's/early 90's pro-wrestling was hilarious.

And Saka's Haiku dis off . . .

Since when is Seth subtle? :)

Robot Chicken Wars came on immediately after that. Yay for me.

Also, Redwulf: I loved the haiku-off. There's a small part of me that hates it, though, because they weren't true haikus, just poems in haiku form (I'm an English major, I pay attention to details like that...)

Agree with Duck Amuck
but also the battle of wits between Bugs and Daffy with poor Elmer in the middle.

then there's also the final episodes of Madlax when she realizes she's just a dream and all her gun battles with Limelda.

Captain Tylor's "Longest Day in Space". where Tylor can show you can have a battle with no casualties on either side.

any moment with Commander Sporh in Crests of the stars and Battleflags of the stars.

Animalympics (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078780/)... well, the whole thing.

and last, but not least, from Wizards (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076929/)
Max: Fritz! Fritz, get up for God's sake! Get up! They've killed Fritz! They've killed Fritz! Those lousy stinking yellow fairies! Those horrible atrocity-filled vermin! Those despicable animal warmongers! They've killed Fritz! Take that! Take this! Take that, you green slime! You black hearted, short, bow-legged...
Fritz: Max! Max, I'm okay! I'm okay max. Just a scratch. Look I'm all right.
Max: Oh. Oh, damn. There you go again, stepping on my lines, raining on my parade, costing me medals. Oh, damn.
[Accidentally shoots Fritz]
Max: Ohh. Oh, Fritz? Fritz, get up for God's sake! Get up! They've killed Fritz! They've killed Fritz! Those lousy stinking yellow fairies! Those horrible atrocity-filled vermin! Take that! Take that! They killed Fritz!

Any given moment on The Simpsons has a 64% chance of being hilarious. The first one that came to my mind is Homer Simpson's toast, "To beer: the cause of, and solution to, all of life's problems."

They really should bring back Invader Zim, at least on Adult Swim. That show was just PURE AWESOMENESS! It was dark, and yet it was funny! It wasn't another cookie cutter kiddie show like Spongebob Squarepants or Fairy Oddparents.

At least make an Invader Zim movie?

and yes, I know I quoted myself, hush.

Just watched the latest (last?) episode of the current Family Guy series - the one where Peter becomes a pirate and manages to screw up Chris' lovelife.
One scene had me in stitches - when Peter brings a box with a toad in it for Chris, telling him "I've poked holes in his back to help him breathe!"
here's the clip:
http://nz.youtube.com/watch?v=DXHaCEhOiWU
something about just totally cracks me up. The sound effects, Peter's expression, the time taken to get rid of the frog.

Does really terrible anime count? Monday on the Sci Fi channel I saw this hilariously awful show called Tokko, and it was hideous. Craptastic dialog everywhere. And the boobs! Pointless cleavage all over the damn place. Funniest thing I've seen in a while.

Yes they are. The only real requirement for a cartoon is that its animated. Those are stop motion animated, making them cartoons.

The Family Guy episode where Peter has a tab at Mort's. The best scene was the competition of who can throw up last after taking epitaph.

Before the Aqua Teen Hunger Force Movie, the Perfect Time for a Movie Time skit was the best.

Scott Tenorman Must Die, from the fifth season of South Park. Also, that episode of Ren and Stimpy where Ren becomes a "fake dad" for a seven year old criminally insane roid-raging psychopath. Oh yeah, and "Princess", a flash animation by Trey Parker and Matt Stone. They were hired to do 64 episodes, but shockwave.com was so appalled by the 2 they received that they tore up the contract.

Reading this thread reminded me of one of my favourite bits from Animaniacs, and I thought I'd share:
