BRYAN, Texas (May 17) - A minister from a Dallas-area Baptist megachurch was caught in an Internet sex sting and charged with online solicitation of a minor, police said Friday.

Undercover officers posing as a 13-year-old girl communicated with Joe Barron, 52, of Plano for about two weeks. The online conversations were sexual in nature, police said.

On May 6, Barron suggested meeting the girl in person. He eventually made the nearly 200-mile drive to Bryan on Thursday, when he was arrested. Police said they found a web-cam and condoms in his car.

Barron was released Friday night from the Brazos County Jail on bond. Police were unsure whether he had an attorney.

What do you think about this one? Don´t ministers have needs too? And with minors? Is this sick or just plain absurd? Discuss.

Sure, ministers have needs. Not sure what that has to do with 13 year olds though.

Oh I don't know. There was that other thread with the guys pretending to be a SWAT team. The one SWAT guy they had going along with it was pretty shocking.

It's my personal opinion that priests and ministers are 10% worse per capita than the average population when it comes to crime.

I know priests can be... quite something when it comes to sex scandals. Ministers seem to be on the same boat.

I presume they do. But we´re talking about a minister. Altar boys are used in Catholic churches to ¨help¨ the priests.
