Need Job/Income ideas

Ok, so I have applied for several jobs, and I include a resume, reference list with every one of those application. I've even called back after two days to let them know that I'm still interested in the job and if they needed any more information, that they can contact me. I usually give them my cell since I don't like the house phone. Anyways the point is I need a job and I needed it yesterday. I have thought about doing my own business, and all I really need is about $500-$800 a month. So far here are the ideas I have come up with.

These are basically jobs that are flexible enough for my grad school schedule and hopefully bring in enough money per month so that I can pay my half of the bills and rent of the apartment that I'm planning to move into.
I'm hoping with the creative and insane mind of NSG, someone could possibly help me out here, or at least offer some ideas?

You can get a job as a delivery driver. Now, I don't mean fast food necessarily, but there is usually good part-time work to be had for delivery companies (think UPS), couriers and medical pickups (picking speciman bottles, etc to and from doctors offices and labs). You should easily be able to make $800/month part time.

I majored in History and have a Bachelor in Arts, and I do not know that as of yet, and I'm guessing about two hours a day every day.
waiter?
Fast Food Worker?
Sales clerk?
janitor?
then there's a varient ot the meals-on-wheels where you can pick up food for people from restruants that don't deliver and deliver it to their homes.
800 a month is 200 a week. 200 a week is, assuming a 5 day work day, 40 dollars a day.
Figure out how many hours a day you can dedicate to working, divide 40 by that number, and you'll figure out wha tyour suriveable hourly wage will be.
Once you figured that out, it's easier to find. For instance jobs that pay $5 an hour are far more frequent and easier to find than those that pay $20 an hour.

Tutoring kids, note-taking for dyslexic students, proof-reading of essays/dissertations/theses, music library tagging (I know it's done round here - you offer professionals a service whereby you burn all their cds etc to their computer, tag them and transfer them to their mp3 player).
Alternatively, scour secondhand bookstores and charity shops for cheap things you can sell on for profit.

The beauty of capitalism:
Find a niche others aren't filling, fill it.
When I was in college (a ways back) I came up with a very nice side job, picking up the kids of the wealthy at their private schools and driving them home. Sort of combo babysitter (child minder for you Brits!) chauffer. It worked because no one else did it.
To go this route, you need a car, a nearby source of rich people, and you must appear presentable enough for them to trust you to drive their kids around.

Then there is no reason you can't find a job. Walk or drive around town and look at help wanted signs. Read the classified ads. There are tons of retail and food services positions that are ALWAYS hiring. Ad that to the fact that you can mostly likely work at least 30 hours a week and you should have no problem.
I work at a Wireless Zone retailer that sells Verizon Wireless phones. I hated my last job, so I walked around town, saw the help wanted sign, walked in with a resume, and within a week I was hired.
Finding a job is only hard if you overcomplicate the process or set your standards too high. Get real, get a job, and make some cash buddy! :)

The trick is to have 3 or 4 (or 9) low to moderate paying part time jobs, so mow lawns, pet sit, etc. all at the same time!
Have you thought of writing? Some magazines will pay you $50-$200 an article. If you even got one a month it would help out a bit.
You can easily make $900 a month working in fast food, you just have to work a lot of hours. Wal*mart is open 24 hours most places, that's flexible, you can unload boxes right?

I would've thought the natural thing for a grad student would be tutoring, or even reading lectures, library work etc. I'm sure your Uni has such positions and they will usually pay quite well, plus you'll be doing something relevant to your learning. I think that fastfood is just about the worst thing a student can do for a living, because you're supposed to be a mindless drone in the time you are there. I personally couldn't bare it.

Since you have no practical skills, try getting a job with the college/university. Not work-study, but a real, part-time job. Most universities that I've been associated with have grounds departments, meter maids, and other things like that really depend on unskilled student labor.

Don't know if someone said it (Most likely they did somewhere) but selling weed is pretty good money. Mainly its good for a side job, maybe go get yourself a paper route so you have an easy income then you sit back after delivering papers (Go to school or whatnot) and sell off your supply 'till you gotta re-up which if you do it right should be every two weeks.

Dear Friend,
As you read this, I don't want you to feel sorry for
me, because, I believe everyone will die someday.
My name is MR Adada Muhammadu a Crude Oil merchant in
Iran,i have been diagnosed with Esophageal cancer .
It has defied all forms of medical treatment, and
right now I have only about a few months to live,
according to medical experts.
I have not particularly lived my life so well, as I
never really cared for anyone(not even myself)but my
business. Though I am very rich, I was never
generous, I was always hostile to people and only
focused on my business as that was the only thing I
cared for. But now I regret all this as I now know
that there is more to life than just! wanting to have
or make all the money in the world.
I believe when God gives me a second chance to come
to this world I would live my life a different way
from how I have lived it. Now that God has called
me, I have willed and given most of my property
and assets to my immediate and extended family
members as well as a few close friends.
I want God to be merciful to me and accept my soul
so, I have decided to give alms to charity
organizations, as I want this to be one of the last
good deeds I do on earth. So far, I have distributed
money to some charity organizations in Austra, cameroun,
liberia,Algeria and Malaysia. Now that my health has
deteriorated so badly, I cannot do this myself
anymore. I once asked members of my family to close
one of my accounts and distribute the money which I have
there to charity organization in Bulgaria and
Pakistan, they refused and kept the money to
themselves. Hence! , I do not trust them anymore, as
they seem not to be contended wi th what I have left
for them.
The last of my money which no one knows of is the
huge cash deposit of Eight million dollars
$8,000,000,00 that I have with a finance/Security
Company abroad. I will want you to help me collect this
deposit and dispatched it to charity organizations.
I have set aside 10% for you and for your time.
God be with you.
MR Adada Muhammadu

I'd look to score a tutoring job if I was you. Either that or lawn-mowing. Doing something physical and pretty mindless is a great way to unwind from studying all day.
Stock trading is too risky to rely on as a sole source of income. Also, you need a fair amount just to get started and make it worth your while. I've been doing it as a hobby the past 3 months and thus far have done pretty well out of it (I've made $1400US thus far). But it's not going to replace my day job. And one of the main reasons I've made money is that I can afford to wait. Some stocks I bought dropped for the first few weeks before rising. I could afford to leave that money tied up over that time because it's spare cash for me. Best advice I've ever heard is: Don't bet money you can't afford to lose.
Same goes for ebay'ing. Too risky. You might end up with somethings no-one wants, or be ripped off into buying crap on false pretenses. And again, if you need the $ to live off, you can't afford to let it sit too long before off-loading.
This stage of your career, go for something safe.

My graduate school internship at the Auditor of States office isn't starting up for another two months, so in the interim I've found that I've been in need of some sort of employment. I found a job as a scorer for standardized tests on Craigslist, and I sprang on it. It's short term, so it's perfect. I'm working full time, since I don't have school, and I've already been promoted to supervisor. It pays damn near 20 bucks an hour, and comes with benefits, including excellent vision care (I've got three new pairs of glasses, at a total cost to me of thirty-three dollars). Now admittedly, I've gotten lucky. The place I'm working for is developing a new method for the process, of keeping the entire program of test development, though processing, through scoring, in-house, so I'm at a prototype facility. Probably part of why I'm already at the supervisor level.
But still, test scoring is something that requires a degree, pays well, and offers opportunities for advancement.
I'd also recommend substitute teaching. You get to choose when you work, and you make a reasonable amount of money. It's not going to make you rich, but it will pay the bills.

If you can find some chumps that believe you you will live as a king (maybe even be crowned as one) without having to work ever.;)
And find a celebrity to jump on a talk show host's couch.

OK, looking for a job in a college town that will bring enough money to pay the bills. OK! Ever think of becoming a male prostitute in the nearest big city on the weekends and delivering pizza during the week locally?
